I wish the US wasn't such a third rate nation for broadband access at home. We all get so excited about 3 or 6 mb/sec. Hong Kong has 25mb/sec as the old norm. They are now switching over to 100mb/sec. The cost? The same as it is here.
Luckily I'm on internet 2 at work. It's outrageously fast.
As for the movie. What a disappointment. It's not anamorphic. Just kidding. The wacky letterboxing is distracting though. It's like it's 4x3 with a 16x9 film letterboxed into it. Why not just make it 16x9 native. I think it's an impressive achievement for a fan pic. The effects are good. 20 years ago, hell 10 years ago it would have been something that you would expect in a hollywood big budget film. It's amazing you can basically do this stuff at home now. As for the movie as a whole. About the same as a made for Sci Fi channel movie.
Oh for those contemplating the download. Just get the 250MB or so WMV file instead of the almost 4GB DVD iso. The quality is pretty much the same and the WMV file doesn't have that wacky fake letterboxing going on. It fills up more of my 2405fpw.

Like the special effect, but they did a bad job on superimpose the human images onto the background, it looks real fake. The acting is bad, specially the girl in the beginning. She tried to act like arrogant, but she did it so often that it looks totally fake.
Why can't they find some good looking people to act? At least, I can see some eye-candy even if they can't act. 🙂 The girls look weird, and the guys are all overweight. There are tons of people waiting to be discovered in Hollywood, they will die for roles like that even if they don't get paid.

This is absolutely a horrid productions. Sure, low budget and all with I am sure some of the people behind the production having parts in the flick. Whatever, it is still awful. Really, don't waste your time. It isn't worth it. The effects aren't that great either. Also, it appears they cast a bunch of nerds to star in the film. Seriously, it reminded me of some of those nerd conventions I see pics and videos of online and on TV.
Still, I admire the efoort I suppose, but heck I don't think these people knew what they were getting into when they came up with the idea for this movie. There was nothing redeeming about it.

Site is working pretty quickly, I downloaded at 336Kb/Sec on DSL. I'll let you know if it's worth watching or not.

Acting skills comparable to Thumb Wars.

It was a good excuse to get my BitTorretn software installed, and I liked the space-ship fight scenes, but yes, the actors are not good and not attractive. They reminded me of Dante from clerks.

IMHO for what it was - me and my girls thought it was a good ENTERTAINMENT value. I agree with the other opinions - the acting was lacking, the script weak, but enjoyable none-the-less. The effects were awesome and made the movie (IMHO).
