From their site.

Revelations was started with a hope and desire to create a low-budget independent film with a big-budget production value. With affordable technology and a pool of talented artists around the world, we wanted to see how far Panic Struck Productions could take it. Everyone involved in the film is a volunteer and no one was paid to work or be involved in this project. The film is a combined effort to artists, industry professionals, and fans, all working together in a dedicated effort to produce a high-end film.
...
?Revelations? takes place between Episodes 3 and 4 of the Star Wars Saga. Emperor Palpatine's power has spread throughout the galaxy. Darth Vader is a feared figure. The Jedi are hunted fugitives. Anyone suspected of harboring Jedi or having any information about them is taken into Imperial custody.

You can download the full DVD version using bittorrent here.

I watched the movie last night. It's not nearly as good as a Hollywood production, but it's pretty good considering the resources they had to make it.

Very professional. Acting is a little cheesy, but effects were very good. Well worth the time to download and watch (45 min long).

I saw the trailer. It looks decent enough to watch! However, I don't wanna watch this if there's huge spoilers from episode III. Are there any? Well some obvious spoilers are ok but specific references to the events of the movie are a nono.

no spoilers . . . just that Jedis are being hunted by the empire. This is really a side story with little relation to the original Star Wars lineage.

grrrr i hate dialup!!! (this gives me a reason to go over to my cousins house though...)

i wanna check it out, so im gonna...

I'm sorry, but a free movie still being free is NOT a hot deal. And there is a thread on this in OT, where it belongs

Do you complain everytime someone posts a free item? I imagine that would get tiring. If it's free and someone wants it, thats a hot deal.

A free ITEM is one thing, but there's a million free videos out there on the internet, including a whole bunch of fan made star wars movies. So, since they are always free, there is no deal involved here.

Some people have nothing better to do than complain.

I'm not complaining that he posted a link to the video. I'm just saying it's not a Hot Deal, and should be put in the apprioriate forum.

Geez

In that aspect you are correct, but I've seen too many complaints of "This isn't a hot deal", "This doesn't belong here." To me it's more important that people are posting fun stuff like this than criticizing where it's posted. I still think it can qualify as a deal, but it isn't like it's flooding up the whole forum, anyway.

Don't worry about it though, I know you aren't trying to cause problems. Sometimes things DO need to be put in their rightful place.

Edit : On a related note... I watched the trailer and I am very impressed by the FX. Maybe I'll download the movie later today and check it out.

Went to their site - is there a non-bit torrent version? I tried installing it twice and it never worked right....... might be my work has somehow blocked it or something.... I don't know.....

Yeah. Click on the HTTP link right next to the torrent link. They say to use it if you don't have torrent on the website. I'm 3 hours into a http dl right now. Good speed so they can't be that many people using or else the swedes have great bandwith. I'm getting 155KB/sec.

this is infinately more of a hot deal than $5 off some $100 item. i never would have found this if it wasnt in the hot deals section, so mwmorph, thanks.

Yawn... another lousy fanflick. There are dozens (hundreds?) of these out there. Some are alot better, some are alot worse. This is about a 6 outta 10.

OK, since you mentioned it, what's so great about your cousin's house besides a faster connection?
