For all you ps3 haters

still think the graphics suck, here is a ingame pic [L=http://i1.tinypic.com/358s268.jpg]

You may want to actually make that a link before you try and start a flame war.

The gfx on the other link they do look impressive. But Racing games for PC don't look near that good. I bet that game is nearly a year off give or take a few months. By then I am sure some PC racing games will be announced that will look just as good.

aceofskies, i think it looks good. still doesn't make me think my 360 wasn't a better deal though...$600 for a console is NOT worth it

Can a PC create better graphics than that? I want to see, im curious.

Those GTHD shots are beyond gorgeous, I totally agree. The question you should be asking is, "Is there a PC game out there that looks this good?" The answer to that is no AFAIK.

Now CAN a PC do that, of course it can.

And don't forget that, not only are 8800es already more powerful than the PS3's GPU; a PC gamer can swap his video card for a new one every time his current one is made obsolete by the new top of the line. The PS3 is stuck with the same hardware for all its useful life.

So if PCs can already posses a GPU superior to that of consoles, imagine in one year. Two years. Four years.

Damn, Crysis looks better than real life.

A PS3 has what is more or less a 7900GT in it. It's a G70@550Mhz. Obviously a PC could do better graphics. The graphics chip in the PS3 isn't even necessarily more powerful than the R500 in the 360.

It's also a nightmare to make good use of all those cores, according to people like John Carmack and many other game developers.

Yup, GREAT graphics. Am I a hater? Nah... got a 360 and now a Wii (wife likes playing that). But am I ready to spend $600 for a console? Not quite yet.

This reminds me of when I had an argument with a coworker about GT3 on the PS2 being 1080i. I was eventually proven wrong... sort of. Indeed, the PS2 was pushing out GREAT models of cars @1080i, but if you looked close enough, the backgrounds were very indistinct, obviously to allow the PS2 core to just render the cars really well.

The screenies of the upcoming GT look good, no doubt. I may eventually get one. Just waiting for a good killer app to come along to convince me.

Love that Ferrari 599!

Comparing a PC to a console proves nothing. PS3, even at $600 is still much much cheaper than a high end PC. But PC games can always be made to look better than any console game given the fact that PC hardware evolves much faster than console hardware.
Those screens are very nice looking indeed but just doesn't beat Crysis screens.

I don't give a damn what it looks like, until this POS meets the following:

1. Actually have a game I'm interested in
2. Cost less than 2 car payments
3. Work. The demo I played had a meltdown 2 minutes into a basketball game.

All video games are toys. PCs are superior because of their power and flexibility. The Wii is superior because it's actually fun. Yeah, I went there!

Here's another take on this. There is no GT on PC. If you want GT, you have to buy a PS3. It's irrelevant whether it looks better / worse than some PC FPS game.

Of course your topic isn't really about this ... but just my 2 cents.

what are you talking about? GTHD looks really good apart from slight jaggies. i do think that sony could have put some of the cell sub-cores to do anti-aliasing.
