for all you bored atoters, what do you really do?

So, I think 70% of the atot here have jobs that require sitting in a chair and not doing anything. hence, you guys can surf atot, and the so many threads about "I'm bored at work, what should I do..."

I would really like to set myself up for these kind of 'office jobs.' so what do you guys do? just curious I want to see which one I actually qualify for and maybe I can try for them.

no, i'm not joking, this is serious, I can really see myself doing that................

I used to be one. I am now a Network & Technology consultant, so I don't have nearly as much time as I used to to play here.

it's not all its cracked up to be. I'd trade my job for one that I really liked and kept me busy with work I enjoyed in a heartbeat.
 
My father owns a transportation company.
My b/f is an owner/operator

I converted a spare bedroom into an office and do all the bookeeping and paperwork for both their companies.

I love my job, but it gets boring here on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

I work for a Private Investigation company in the video department. I stream 8mm video tapes the private invetigators send in, and I edit them.

This is just a college job though, I will be looking for something in my field next January. This job is cool, but the pay is not all that great.
 
fin/it consultant w/ public prof serv firm. much better to be busy and using your brain creatively.
I remember reading a book about success in business and their number one skill for a junior person was to learn how to deal with the drudgery. Well I am very good at doing this now and getting paid alot of money to do it!
 
IT Department at a Law Firm. There is a lot of down time that I use to browse the forums and surf.
 
I manage a Command Center for Systems and Communications Services at my company. Basically, if nothing is breaking, I don't have much to do. It's really not a bad deal.
 
You need to know how to use AutoCad2004 and Engineering, RasterX, Cadra, Pro E., Simplo, and Allen Bradley programs, plus the usual Excel, Word, etc...etc... Also how to use The Grafoplast and AB Plotters for the electrical engineers out here. As well as the mechanical engineers. Dimensioning is the worst when it comes to mechanical modifications. Printing and modifying thousands of electrical and mechanical drawings.
Some of the stuff I do deals with databases as well.

I also staple papers, punch holes, and laminate things.
I make copies too.

On which kind of days, the really busy or really boring ones? I'm usually pretty content either way.

I love it, but it's not for everyone. I've seen some terrible things, worse than I thought I would ever see. It's very rewarding to me, however. Only have 6 more months, though.
