KT266A/KT266 tweak guide I gave this a try and it works very well. I have never tried any cpu cooling software so I have nothing to compare it to but I can tell you that my temp on my 1600+@1.52GHZ went from 41C idle to 32C idle after following this article.

I did this a few days ago. It really lowered my idle CPU temps (43-44C to 34C), but it did nothing to my full load temps. Since I run SETI 24/7, this tweak really doesn't help me very much. But, it's still not a bad idea.

I went from like 39C to 26C, my idle temp is almost the same as my case temp, wow!

Even if it doesnt affect full load, that doesnt mean it doesnt help. Keeping the processor cooler more of the time when your not running full load will definately increase the processors life.

it cant help at full load because it's a cpu idle tweak...........only when your at idle ,the tweak throttles down the cpu.......less heat......

Its actually great for me, because i havent been doing much gaming or 3d modeling and just dilly dally on the web and it keeps my temps under 30C 90% of the time while doing that which is great.
