FOP32-1 Installation Help

I'm getting a FOP32-1 in two days that I'm going to use on my cc0 P3 700e in my CUSL2-C. I'm a bit worried from all the reports I've been reading about the tough clip.

Any tips or advice before I go ahead and install this bad boy? What about the pads on the bottom?

if you have good thermal compunt or paste like aryic silver, remove the thermal pad that comes with the fop... as for installation, take your time and keep even pressure on the heatsink, (flat) as you apply the clip and you should be fine.... if your worried, you can always flex the clip a few times to loosen it just a little, but too much will deplete performance

Mikee, I just installed the FOP32 Monday in the same setup (CUSL2-C, 700E cb0). If your motherboard is not already installed in the case , it's fairly easy; however, if you're replacing another heatsink/fan and don't want to dismantle your setup, the confined area makes installation a little tricky. If you take your time and exercise care, you shouldn't have any problem (did I mention take your time); in fact, I found the original Intel heatsink/fan that came with my retail 700 much more difficult to work with. I don't know if my method is advisable, but I used a slot screwdriver, inserting it into the clip and pushing down and pulling the clip outward until it snapped on. I put a rubber pad on the motherboard in the area where the screwdriver would contact the motherboard if it slips off the clip (which it inevitably does). Perhaps a member who does this a lot can recommend a safer procedure. Good luck and please let us know your results.

Thanks guys. I definitely plan to use arctic silver. I have a removable motherboard tray, so I'm thinking that I'll just pull it out first before attaching the heatsink.
