didn't see this posted yet, so i thought i'd bring it to light. backup offensive lineman at georgia tech, dustin vaitekunas, had been missing a whole lot of blocks lately. so coach o'leary wants to show him what a pass rush looks like to the quarteback if he misses his blocks. he has vaitekunas stand there and lines up 4 defensive lineman to rush him. he blows the whistle, and i guess his intentions weren't clear, and he told the d line not to hit him, but too late - only 2 people were able to pull away in time. so he gets hit and bruised. that night he takes a train back up to mommy and quits georgia tech and the football team. his mom is going to file criminal charges against o'leary for "assult and battery." in her own words "... [o'leary] tried to kill my son. I want him charged criminally."
what a wuss! this guy is 6' 7" and can't take the game of football. regardless of if o'leary meant for vaitekunas to be hit, that's football!! not ballet? so he got hit? big deal. if he were good enough to start he'd be hit like that a lot more. and how about what happens to the quarterback if he misses his blocks? he gets hit like that too, but a lot more, a lot harder, and plus 90% of the time he'll be blindsided.
and it's not as if what o'leary did is uncommon in football. i haven't heard of any good program, college, highschool, peewee, pro, whatever, that doesn't punish players for making stupid mistakes. it's all a part of the game
the thing that bugs me most about this situation is that he's a little pansy ass and had to go home and cry to mommy. and mommy being some overprotective soccer mom b1tch says that someone tried to kill her son and is going to file criminal charges against the coach! grow up little boy.
