Foot pain from overdoing it while hiking

I have hurt this foot before when training for a half marathon last year. When I up the miles, the pain starts. Last time the pain was in the arch of my foot and I figured it was plantar fasciitis.

Last weekend I hiked 11 miles up & down a strenuous mountain trail. My foot began to hurt the next day on a short 4.3 mile hike. I was limping before I could finish the hike. I got some rest and the pain subsided until 2 days later I was doing my morning run and about 2 miles in the pain came back fast.

The pain is on the bottom, outside stretch of my right foot. It hurts the longer I am on it, when I put pressure on it. The pain subsides when I stay off of it. There is a burning sensation, also a throbbing at night. I have been icing it and have wrapped it once. It didn't help much.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ice it and stop it with your runs and hikes. You're not giving your foot the rest it needs, the inflammation will not go away, you'll just make it worse.
