Haha, the comments are gold. The conservatives that got duped by this article are claiming it is all liberals' fault for being so crazy that the story is "believable."
Yep, righties love to play the victim card. They're so oppressed.

What this really shows is how simple it is to dupe them. Just spout any ridiculous nonsense that roughly aligns with their biases and they'll lap it up. Their faith is not challenged by facts or burdened with critical thinking. It's why they've been so readily manipulated into voting against their own interests.

That's a fairly reasonable assessment. IN a way, they're Utopian reactionaries. They want the world to be the way they thought it always was, but Utopians of any kind don't recognize the way things are and the way they will be no matter what.

That explains the tendency to cherry-pick the facts in their quest, putting the cart of Belief before the horse of Reality.

"I want the world to be like X, so which Y and Z facts can I cherry-pick to convince others?"

OP Fix it. its totally untrue.

Editor's note: The following column is satire. Townhall apologizes for not making that explicitly clear at the time of publication and regrets this error.

I fixed, I believe, the first post. I was fooled, but I did not intend to misdirect anyone.

Not surprised though that people took out their knives to castigate those who don't share their vision of the world. I had some good chuckles. I particularly love the definition of Utopian reactionaries, if you don't agree with me, everything you think and do is wrong.

And by the way, glad to hear that California has no significant fiscal problems. I'm going home now to go water my lawn.

I find it fun and funny that conservatives routinely get duped by made-up bullshit and then shout and scream about fake libruls.

I also find it fun and funny when they find out that they've been duped for the 10,000th time about fake, imaginary libruls, they then try to point at as many libruls as they can and continue attacking rather than manning-the-fuck-up about being duped yet again.

Cognitive dissonance and projection. The twin pillars of American Conservatism (reactionism).

How can the economy be fixed if there is no rain? The economy and the weather go hand in hand.

The drought is because of liberals not riain! Benghazi!

Surely by now you've heard of the super secret aqueduct from WA to CA that we previously discussed right? I know you guys are scheming for it and playing dumb when confronted with the subject! 😉

Our economy is sinking?
I guess our housing market hasn't heard.

How do you think people ultimately end up underwater on their home?

Nobody ever bought a house they didn't think was a good deal at the time.

I would never buy a house in that state since I don't think it has a future 30 years from now.

I would not buy a house there due to concern it will be appropriated via eminent domain for some train to nowhere boondoggle lol.

I could handle La Jolla however...
