Foodies: List of Restaurant Weeks right here!

Foodies: I've rounded up the dates of Restaurant Weeks all over the United States, and 5 other locations outside USA too (Australia, Canada, India, Puerto Vallarta, and Singapore).

How this works is participating restaurants offer 2- to 3-course meals at a discounted rate during that week. One particular city (Sacramento), includes wine with their 3- to 4-course prix fixe menu!

Well over 50 cities had theirs last month or earlier this month, and I'll update my list once their upcoming dates become available. By the way, three cities' Restaurant Week (Chicago, Illinois; Annapolis, Maryland; and Schenectady, New York) ends tomorrow, February 26th.

Also, if you happen to miss the Beer Festivals List (I've added 55+ events in the last few days), clicky here.

Happy eats....and sips!

Awesome, the Denver one started today. I will definitely be taking a look at your list. 😉

are those crabs awesome? 'cause it was one of the 4 foods listed on their website.

Yes they are. Although I am more partial to the Hong Kong Spicy Crab. With spicy crab, they fry the crab in oil and a mound of garlic. The crab is served buried in a huge mound of the fried, spicy garlic. The garlic alone is worth ordering the dish as you can mix it in your rice and everything else that is served. Absolutely delicious.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I was only in Singapore for one trip and the food was good. Had the chilli crab among other things although my friends from Singapore lamented that they felt that Singapore has too many franchise restaurants. Still, I won't say no to another breakfast of Kava toast or lunch of chicken rice.

just finished Googling pics of both Crabs. between the two, i'd try the Chili Crab since i'm a wuss when it comes to spicy foods (and actually quite envious of those who can eat it). 😀

You can specify the spiciness of the spicy crab. Particularly in Hong Kong where they are used to accomodating Gwei Lou levels of spicy tolerance. I would suggest avoiding real Sichuan food though. Although, even in Hong Kong it wasn't very spicy (and believe me, ALL of my Sichuan colleagues did nothing but complain about how bland and unspicy the food was). What I don't like about Sichuan food is the extensive use of the Sichuan pepper, which gives a cool numbing sensation on your tongue but completely affects your sense of taste, and their proclivity to make a lot of their food as soup like dishes.

Ironically enough, when I left I noticed that they were opening a No Signboard restaurant in Hong Kong in Causeway Bay (not too far from Under Bridge Spicy Crab). No Signboard is a famous Singapore restaurant for chilli crab but my Singaporean friends are of the opinion that its prices are getting inflated due to its popularity.

I do miss going to Under Bridge Spicy Crab. 🙁

Awesome, Houston's is good for the entire month of August. Sometimes I like living in the fattest city in the nation.

Restaurant weeks have been pretty terrible lately, at least in the DC Metro area. Average Restaurants selling their crappier food at a very slight discount. Service is worse and so is the food. Its really not worth going unless you really need to save that $5-$10. There are exceptions though.

Just to be clear though, that article is about the Hong Kong spicy crab, not the Singaporean chilli crab. But the chilli crab is very delicious too. I like that it has a nice sauce that you can then use little bread rolls at the end to mop up and eat.

Oh nice, I actually had a site a while back dedicated to restaurant week. I think they maintain a list on opentable also.

I remember there was this restaurant with a pretty clever name called The Grill from Ipanema.

edit: There's also a howard country restaurant week in md.

I think there's a bethelham one also:

i'll make note of those 2 URLs for next year. thanks!

sometimes it's like that.

DC probably doesn't really need a Restaurant Week with the number of tourists, and lobbyists there. 😛

😕

yeah, i got that. u made both of 'em sound like they're an absolute "must try". and if spiciness can somehow be adjusted, even better. 🙂
