Food types and weird stomach problems...

This is going to sound weird.

Over the last few years, I've noticed something about my diet and the way I handle it.

Whenever I eat non-simple carbs or non-starch food (I mean things like candy, potatoes, bread, pasta) I get sick. The food quickly, uh, exits in either of two directions. Meat seems to lead to multi-hour vomiting sessions, and high-fiber complex carbs lead to... other quick exits. This happens every time.

I ate sausage about two months ago, and let's just say I lost about 6 pounds of water in the process. :|

Any time I eat something like beef jerky or a big steak, it's instant puke fest.

Any ideas on this? If I'm going to lose weight, I need to cut out simple carbs. If I'm going to not end up in the hospital, I need to be able to digest other foods.

i would get it check out by a GI specialist. there are many possible things that could be going wrong and they can find out for you.

So does it sound like an actual medical problem? Doctors are expensive. 😀

Crap, dude. Get yourself to a real doctor and an allergist. Sounds like you've got some serious sh!t going on. Pun intended.

Yikes.

I'll give you an example. There's a really great restaurant my roomate and I go to a couple of times a month.

The turn around is about 20 minutes. 🙁

So you basically can't eat meat or anything else besides simple carbs?!? Go get check out man, you are either allergic to it or you have some serious stomach/intestine issues.

Weird.

My maternal grandfather has some weird thing where his stomach doesn't close correctly, or something weird like that. He can't eat after like 5pm.

Get yourself checked out as stated above. Too many things can cause those types of problems to be guessing here. Homesickness maybe a contributing factor........:sun:

When I was doing the news I ate beef jerky almost everyday, and I puked everyday.

For like 9 months.

I didn't put it together for quite a while. I thought it was stress.

So WTF do you eat? You can't handle carbs or meat so that pretty much leaves nothing.
Go see a doctor ASAP.

I eat lots of fast food, grape fruit, and pasta.

Most of the fast food goes through me pretty quickly, but fast food usually has some bread or fries with it. I drink a lot of soda, too.

I've had stomach issues my whole life. So far no doctor has figured it out. Lots of foods cause problems for me. Any dairy, anything acidic and red meat seem to cause major issues. Something like that could be a gallbladder issue, I know that can cause problems with digestion (IIRC). I'd love to be cured. Some days I'm just a slave to my GI system.

Gastrointeroglogy is a complicated medical field. There are numerous causes to problems that people have, and it can take months to diagnose anything.

See, it's weird.

I can eat peppers, salsa, anything like that.

I ate a bowl of oatmeal the other day, and I almost puked up bile. I don't get it.

That squash is just sitting in my stomach. Such a nasty feeling. I ate some grapefruit, hoping that will get my stomach going.
