Food Poisoning Is Suck

This is the first time I've ever had food poisoning and it is Suck :| Not only does it suck but it has taken me out of a 212 game 'Iron Man' no games missed ice hockey streak :|

Speaking of Food Poisoning...a few years ago a friend of mine had the worst case of food poisoning I've ever seen. He ate one day at a local hot dog joint, came home, went to bed later that night. He woke up in the middle of the night, screaming, didn't know where he was or who the people were around him (his family -- he was 18 at the time) They took him to a hospital, he had spinal taps and MRIs and the whole bit, in about 4 days he just remembered everything, like THAT. Very scary. :Q

Scrapster, I don't think E would do that to anyone, it certainly wouldn't mimic the symptoms of food poisoning.

edit - no I'm not a ecstasy user, but drugs get a bad enough rap, without being blamed for something totally unrelated.

I was referring to Konichiwa's friends situation. Ofcourse I doubt his hot dog was laced with E. But I've seen other people get that messed up on E before.

I feel for ya Aquaman. I get randomly sick in my stomach sometimes, and there are times where I prayed that I could throw up. I won't go see a doctor cause I'm a little chicken, but my lord, the pain.

No, but I had another friend who had a heart attack his first time doing Ex. He survived, and it was certainly a life-changing experience. Anyway...Aquaman, hope you feel better.

OMG! Konichiwa, I too had the worst case of food poisoning known to man. I ate at Luby's around 7:00pm one night. I had the chopped steak and noticed that it was a little discolored, but it tasted okay so I continued eating it. I woke up from a dead sleep at 11:30pm and was spewing vomit everywhere. I started sweating profusely, like I've never sweated before. The next thing I know I'm so cold that I'm shivering and my teeth are chattering uncontrollably. I vomited so many times that night that I lost count and was dry-heaving to the point that I thought I was going to hurt myself. Over the next couple of days I must have vomited 25 times. I had really extreme flu-like symptoms and lost about 15lbs the first week. I made several trips to the doctor before they figured out exactly how to treat me. It was almost two weeks before I started to feel like my old self again. This was absolutely the sickest that I have ever been. I'll never forget it, nor will I ever eat discolored meat again.

Food poisoning occurs fairly often. It really doesn't take that much for food to become contiminated. And if you think it happens often today, think about in the pre-refrigerator/sanitation days.....:disgust:

I've done that before! It wasn't from bad food though. It was from consuming too much alkeeeeehawl. Wasn't a pretty site when I woke up the next morning wondering what my name was and I was sleeping in my own puke.

It probably wasn't the hotdog your friend ate since food poisoning can be in your system for 48 hours before it affects you. Also the most common cause of food poisoning is not bad food but soap left on dishes. Talk about cleaning you out.

Glen.....actually if you read the instructions on immodium it says that you should not take it if you have a fever or a rash (which I had). I tell you I wish I could take something as easy as immodium

I have a friend who will randomly get sick to his stomach. He finally went to the doc and I think the doc gave him something called prosilac?? Whetever it was, it has done wonders for him. You should look into it.

As for food poisoning, I got it from eating a college hamburger once. Worst tummyache I ever had:frown:, though I didn't get physically sick from it.

Many people who get ill sometime after eating a meal assume they have food poisioning. However, most cases are not food poisioning at all.

Food poisioning cripples your body. If you were to get real food poisioning it would be an experience in total body sickeness that you have never felt before. Becoming ill after eating and getting food poisoning is too completely different things. I've experienced it.

Azraele, it's called Prilosec, and I was prescribed that by a doctor once, and it did not help. I was fooled thinking my problem had passed, but it came back full force. It feels like having contractions, as it comes and goes every 30 seconds, like my entire stomach is being squeezed!

Prilosec was okay, but it does tend to leave food undigested in your stomach, causing a lot of problems (sour stomach), as it prevents a build up of excessive acid. However, it tends to cut too much acid.

perry, that was a stupid question i asked cwand! I did remember throwing up in my bed when consuming more tequilla than I should have. I woke up with a pile of vomit, and a bangin headache, what a night though!

However, I never woke up in the middle of the night screaming like a girl and vomiting like the Exorcist!
