Back in 2004, I came down with Campylobacteriosis after eating (we think) some bad turkey. There's a post in the archives about it after I was discharged from the hospital.
Well I got it again last week from a chicken burrito that my mother and her friend brought back from an area restaurant. Her friend got sick, too, but not as bad. My mother had something different, so she dodged the bullet. Last time, I lost 12 or 13 pounds in like eight days. This is what I've eaten since Friday:
Two cans of chicken soup - just the broth
One can of vegetable soup - just the broth
Two cups of yogurt
One piece of white toast
I've drank a bunch of water and Gatorade, a bottle of green tea, a couple cans of Sprite. Though I'm starting to have a little more interest in food (or least the smell of it), my guts still aren't up to it. I can hear my bowels rolling around as I'm typing this, but the diarrhea is slowing down. Monday was the first time I've been on a computer since Friday evening.
Great, now I have another six months to worry about Guillain-Barré syndrome.
