Food just for fuel

When in California my uncle treated food as just fuel. He doesn't consider it enjoyable at all. How many of you out there consider food just fuel and take no pleasure in it?

I wish I could think of food like that. I've had a hell of a time losing 30 pounds in the past few months.

Pretty much, that's how I treat it. There are very very few foods that I actually enjoy. I mosty eat because I have to. I have always said that if there were a pill that I could take so that I wouldn't have to eat anymore, I would take it in a heartbeat.

Wierd thing is, I love to cook. I cook all the time for my wife, family, friends... and I'm good at it. Funny how that works.

I wish I was that way too ... and I'm working on training myself to feel that way. I've got too much hanging around the midsection for my liking.

I went enjoyable, although I've at least streamlined my diet to only enjoyable foods, for the most part. That is, I tend to avoid superfluous calories such as things that are nothing more than sugar.

NEVER!!!!
food is something that i take great pleasure in... no matter what i eat.
I enjoy a fine steak just as much as i like a good Mc Donalds buger.
I always look for new foods to try and enjoy everything about the process of eating from getting the best ingridients to preparing them to plating the food to eating.

Agreed. Food is one of life's pleasures, IMO.

I hate food because it costs so much.
So I try to eat as cheaply as possible (yet still healthy) so I remind myself that food is there just to survive. That way, I don't crave the expensive foods.

I see food as fuel but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy good fuel. :)

If they came out with a pill that we could take three times a day that would give us all our nutrients and such, I would be all over it. Every once in a while, I'd get a real meal just for a change in pace.

I'll never get people that have the "eat to live" mindset. Taste is one of your five senses so why wouldn't you indulge it? Do these people also abstain from sex, good music, beautiful sunsets and sweet smelling flowers?

A couple years ago when i was a real fitness freak i got into this mindset. It was easy once you prioritized things... at that point having a really fit body gave me more enjoyment than eating sugar every day, so it was easy. I was eating ****** like canned chicken and brown rice (and thats it) for years on end, and i didnt get tired of it because i didnt see it as anything other than fuel to keep my body in the exact shape i want it.
