I'm looking to getting a food dehydrator, and was wondering which models you guys have and what you think about them?

Any opinions would be helpful. Right now I'm just thinking of getting the Ronco 5 platter one for $39.95.
 
So what is the big advantage to the food dehydrator? Does it allow you to store food for longer? Is it healthier?
