Sardines are delicious, though I've never had them in mustard sauce. I prefer plain smoked, and sometimes add my own hot sauce. I've had the ones packed in hot sauce, but they aren't as good.

Sardines are nothing more than tiny cooked fish in a can. There's nothing gross about it. It's like saying tuna fish in a can is gross. The only way it could be gross was it was raw uncooked fish in a can.

Cod Fish Sperm - Eaten in Japan

This slippery, soft white food is a popular winter delicacy in Japan. Shirako, otherwise known as Cod Fish Sperm Sac, is said to melt in the mouth like butter and is made from cod milt, a fancier word for fish sperm. It can be eaten both raw and cooked, depending on individual tastes.

yummy

Sardines are delicious. Dont know who suggested to pack sardines in a mustard sauce. Tried that once and the flavor combination just doesn't fit IMO. I like the ones in tomato sauce. Smoked is also very good. A can makes a nice meal. Just use a fork to left each fish out of the can and split it lengthwise so the spine and any of the big bones can be removed. Sardines with some bread, olives and other assorted antipasto is one of my favorite meals.

Try to shop at a Mediterranean or European grocer if you can. The sardines found here are typically plumper and better quality than the average supermarket canned sardines.

I am hooked on Riga Sprats. Small smoked Russian fish. Better than any sardine you could imagine.

Loved it as a kid. Like it to this day. Scary how much friggin salt is in one can.

but Tuna fish in a can is gross. It's cat food. You eat cat food?

Are you talking about corned beef hash?

Nope, they actually sell "corned" "beef" in a can. Filipinos love that shit too. My GF and her family certainly do... It is pretty disgusting.

I can't think of anything overly gross that I enjoy. Mayo on french fries gets quite a few strange looks, I suppose. I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to trying the weirder stuff though. I once saw a Japanese restaurant that served fresh monkey brains (and by fresh, I mean they brought a live monkey to the special table, with a cage that had a small hold for the head to be held up through and the patrons smashed his head with a mallet). I'd probably avoid that, as I am not aware of the safety of brain and spinal column of monkeys (mad cow type of disease).

I've eaten all manner of strange food, but nothing really disgusting. Caviar maybe?

A grilled cheese sandwich with grape jelly scraped on the top crust.
Although I haven't been able to have a grilled cheese in years 🙁

Also, more recently, I had a burger with peanut butter and deep fried bananas on it. It was delicious.

Aside from those, I haven't really experienced anything particularly 'gnarly'

I eat tuna fish straight out of the can. And I prefer the tuna fish packed in oil. I eat sardines, mackerel, oysters, snails, etc straight out of the can too. It's fully cooked. What's so gross about it?

Canned hash (corned beef or not). My wife has to leave the room, claims it smells like dog food. Add some chopped onion to it and fry that shit up. Couple of eggs up and it's time for some good eatin'.

yes and no.

I like Hereford canned corned beef. Its shredded and salty and plain awesome.

I also buy canned corned beef hash made by Puritan. Its hard to find but oh so worth it. Corned beef and diced potato. fried up its awesome.

did I repeat the word awesome? yes I did.
