I went through 8 pages and no one said snails.
So damn tasty although you can't find them here in the US.
When I go back to Vietnam, I eat them 24/7.

I've had snails that taste like clams, then I've had snails that taste exactly like you would think a garden slug would taste like.

You're really taking chances on those things.

And honestly one of the only sushi menu items I will absolutely not eat. It's like a big orange snot.
I gave it a shot, and HELL NO

Good uni is like, the second coming of christ. Bad uni is the most vile disgusting thing on earth.

I've had Uni a few times- it's very light and tastes "like the beach". It's so delicate that I don't see the fuss about it. Not something I'd order because it tastes awesome.

Peanut butter and Miracle Whip sandwiches.

Now THIS is why I made this thread 😀 How did you come up with that combination?

I love Escargot.

It didn't even cross my mind to put snails as gross I guess 🙂

Love Raw Oysters too, just don't eat them much anymore.

We had relatives from Seattle come visit a few years ago that brought some freaking huge ones with them that were fantastic.

I'm leery of most unless I know where they have came from.

If you live in a large multi-cultural city its not hard to find at all. If you live in the middle of bumfucknowhere yeah I get what you're saying.

The texture of snails is exactly like squid/octopus. I don't know why people freak out about them.

Well, for us Asian, snails are normal food.
When mentioned in the US, the word "gross" usually comes out first.

Once, while on vacation, (not Band Camp) my party caught up with an ole neighbor who ran a pizzeria and he had a large #10 can of snails. We opened and got garlic & butter and made the whole thing up. 10 folks and we ate very liberally. Next someone showed up with an invitation for a small plane ride around Sedona. I accepted (the ride) and rejected (my earlier meal) as we swooped up and down for what seemed like eternity.
This was the day I accepted moderation as the key to existence!

Tastes like the beach? Uni tastes sweet, salty, and creamy to me. Uni you find in the sushi restaurants in the US is pretty tasteless and inferior to the Uni you find in Asia. In Asia, Uni is alive before it's served to you. Here, who knows how fresh it is. Best Uni I've had was at Jeju island in Korea. It was just caught by female diver earlier that day. Jeju island is like the seafood Mecca. Every fresh seafood you can imagine, all alive and caught that day before being served to you. That place is like heaven.

Raw sea squirt tastes like the beach. But it's pretty good when you dip it in spicy pepper sauce and wash it down with a cold beer.

Hot Dogs! 😎

I've always loved hot dogs. It's only gross when I think about what they're made of and how they're made, so I don't think about it.

When I was a kid I ate them with ketchup, but as an adult I "matured" to mustard and onions. No relish. I hate pickles.

Of course, there are other delicacies that I occasionally love as well..

Can't believe no one has said sardines yet. In mustard sauce.
I don't eat the guts/spine though.

Sardines are delicious, though I've never had them in mustard sauce. I prefer plain smoked, and sometimes add my own hot sauce. I've had the ones packed in hot sauce, but they aren't as good.
