Food allergies: Do you suffer from them?

In the food industry food allergies are a big deal. Do you suffer from any of the Big 8?

The big 8:

Milk

Wheat

Eggs

Soy

Peanut

Tree nut

Shell fish

Seafood

For those that suffer from an allergy caused by the "Big 8", how do you deal with it?

When I was young I was allergic to raw eggs. Somewhere along the line I outgrew that and have never had any of the others.

The closest I've got is lactose intolerance.

I'm glad that lactase tablets exist, or I'd probably just starve. 😛

A lot of fruit. Started off as just an allergy to apples, now it's expanded to:

Apples, Pears, Plums, Apricot, Cherries, blueberries. Essenitally, most pitted fruits.

Melons are still good, same w/ citrus and most berries are still ok.

I'm lactose intolerant, but no real allergies to anything (just makes me feel queasy if I eat/drink too much of it)

Intolerance is not an allergy, but you do bring up a valid point. How has your intolerance affected your life?

I get the squirts really bad whenever I have a milk product.

GF allergic to peanuts pretty bad. I'm lactose intolerant, but still eat tons of dairy.

Never drink straight milk though...

Mom is allergic to all shellfish but she doesn't care for seafood anyway so it doesn't bother her. I am fortunately not allergic to any foods.

Avocado, melons, mangos, and tropical type fruits make my lips/throat swell--but it seems to have gotten better and I eat those fruits anyway.

Sadly, this is true. If more people were allergic to intolerance, the world would be a better place. 😉

I am allegic to nothing

But it seems to me that more and more kids these days have peanut allergies, i wonder if it has a direct correlation to a lot more kids these days are fatties?
