I started using foobar when winamp 5 came out, because w5 seemed a hog compared to w2. I could go back, but I like the functionality of f2k.

Only problem I have now is, on my new vista install, global hotkeys don't work in games. Desktop, web browsers, -w'ed games will work, but once a full screen game takes the screen, they don't work. And yes, they are set to be global, and work when f2k isn't in focus. I've reinstalled, tried a different 9.x.x.x version, but nothing has worked for me on this vista install. I could swear it worked previously for me, not sure which f2k version, but XP was the only difference.

Why is there no "Open File" button in the default foobar layout?
This is annoying.

The great thing about Foobar is that if you don't like something, you can customize it.

The bad thing is that sometimes you're forced to, and it gets sort of arcane.

Using Default UI? Right-click the buttons toolbar and click Customize Buttons. You can add a button for opening files.

If you're using Columns UI, there is an open file button by default, it uses the eject icon I think.

Or you can just hit Ctrl-O or drag the file onto foobar. :p

No need for open button, I just drag and drop from folders or right click -> enqueue in foobar
