First off, how many of you like these cases? You can find pics of the MODEL# 4387SL at electroseller.com, go to the 7 bay aluminium and then click on the 4th one down. Which would you recommend for me. I like to have a good looking, nice case with good airflow, and that is big (but not huge!). Secondly, if i get the FK which color is better, black or white? I'm kinda partial to the white but that's because then i wouldn't have to paint my drives =)

Thanks for the input guys!

I have no experience with the Skyhawk, but I have the black FK-320. It is without a doubt the best case I have ever seen. The cooling is excellent (1.0Ghz TBird @ 1.3Ghz and running @ 38 C!! with SK-6 + Delta) I have a review (sans pics) right here

A friend of mine and I are purchasing new systems from the ground up most likely Athlon 1.4's. I was curious as to how quiet the Fong Kai 320 was running, since the Delta's are suppose to be rather loud.
Did you install a second fan in the front mount?

Could anyone recommend what fan(s) in this case would be most efficent and quietest?

generally the bigger the fan the more CMF per decible. Overall I would say NMB probably makes the quitest fans I have ever heard (or not heard as the case is ;))

I have the standard 92mm fan on the shroud, a Sanyo 120mm fan in the front, and a Delta 7K rpm fan on the CPU. Right now my case is not 6 inches from my head, and the noise is tolerable. Its still quite loud, but the thickness of the case dampens a lot of sound.

For efficiency + quietness, go with Panaflo.

I was looking at the Alpha Orix combination mentioned in the cooling review but both items are not on the general market yet, to my knowledge. SWScorch: Would you say that the Delta contributed the most to the total noise level. I was planning on going with a 90, 120 and the Alpha Orix on the CPU,

TruecelentTucan: Could you post a site where I could get NMB fans? Especially a 120mm?

Thanks

I wish I could. I purchase mine through Aajax on this forum. He has good prices and usually a pretty good inventory. Also check out fs/ft forum, as someone is usually offloading a couple.

Be ware that NMBs are made for server computers and most (esp 92 mm) have some sort of crazy plug, which means you have to run wires from it to a 4 port molex.

yes, the delta is 75% of the noise in my computer. The 2 92s (one in shroud and one is PS0 and the 120 are almost silent. The 120 has a slight buzzing sound that can be ehard over the delta, but is very inconspicuous.
