Not just tested, tested constantly. If he's doping it's something not even on the UCI radar at this point.Originally posted by: yllus

you would think...
but if you're french, AND you have a major boner for cycling, AND your country sucks at cycling, AND you constantly are losing to AN AMERICAN, AND you stink and don't know the meaning of hygiene, then you kinda of lose all sense of reason.

No, when Barry Bonds says he didn't use steroids, I don't believe him because he ballooned up to gigantor size in like a year and turned a solid basehitting career into a homerun-hitting career.Originally posted by: jman19

be honest, that's the crux of it right there.
you like lance, you hate the french therefore no matter what, lance was right.
most people like to hate barry bonds so no matter what, he used steroids.
it's more about like and dislike than it is about the facts.
As much as I dislike Barroid, Plat is right on this one, to a degree. The fact that Bonds is such an ass probably has something to do with most people bashing him as well.
This is a huge misconception. I saw a collection of photographs of him from each year he was in the league and he did not suddenly blow up to 'gigantor size'. He gradually increased size over the years and wasn't noticed until he had the 73 season because he was on TV all the time and people were always paying attention to him.
Also, Barry will never be known as having a home run-hitting career by anyone who knows baseball at all. If you look at his numbers you will note that he is probably the most statistically well rounded player to ever grace the game. Home runs, stolen bases, golden gloves, etc.
hehe I can't believe people still stick up for that roid-monster.
sheesh@!

Nice argument buddy. Who says I was sticking up for him? I just pointed out the misconception along with the fact that he had a great career before he became 'gigantor'. Do I think he used 'roids? Absolutely. Do I think a hefty % of our athletes use/used 'roids? Absolutely.
Barry? Is that you? 😛Originally posted by: PlatinumGold
again as you say, half the ML uses, probably true, but they turn on barry a lot worse than they have on mcgwire. fact is, there is a double standard where barry is involved. yes, he is abrasive etc, i bet most of us, if we had our candid statements all aired would come off sounding pretty damn abrasive. i'm also willing to bet many news agencies intentionaly misuse barry's statements to make him sound worse than he is.
BINGO! The French hate the guy just because he's American. They think he's arrogant... seriously, can you believe that? I'd say he's confident, but the word arrogant would never cross my mind when it comes to him.Originally posted by: Yreka
That is a very valid point, but couldn't the same also be said about the French ?

The thing is, Bonds doesn't get tested like Lance does. Lance gets tested constantly during the season and offseason. On top of that, they're random tests; he has no idea when they're going to appear and want blood/urine. Half the MLB would be gone if that were the case. Because of the very extensive testing, I'm inclined to believe Lance.Originally posted by: PlatinumGold

I don't care if he used drugs or not, he for sure wasn't using it during his last 5 wins (they've been able to test for this drug since 2001), and if that's the case, why is it so unbelievable that he wouldn't have used anything in his first two?
Plus, I hate the French and they hate Lance, so simple math says "I <3 Lance Armstrong."
