Finally 40k. Thanks for the stats. Hopefully I can find money to add my 2.8ghz Northwood to the farm next month so I can pull some of my older rigs off.

Finally, I have results from all 6 machines. I just bought a 1.8 GHz Duron to replace my Athlon 900 MHz cruncher, and I'm thinking about upgrading my main system. I'm almost certainly going to get an Athlon 64, but out of curiousity which is better for H@H, Athlon 64 or P4?

from what I've heard/read the AMD will do better in everything except video encoding. I do not own any AMD chips to prove this, but i've heard it from so many different sources I believe it. My next build will definitely be AMD powered.

they are cheaper per single threaded performance. as far as most DC projects go, the P4's and Xeons using HT will out produce by some 20-40% depending on the project and core.

You are partially correct. Gleem and I sat here for about 3 hours the other night and finally figured out that HT will only be beneficial depending on which WU's you get. If you have a tendency to pull down the 450pt QMDs then HT will not benefit you, no matter what the other WU is. The console version on my HT 3.2 only gets 1910's 1911's and 1912's. So no matter what I was running on my Graphical version I was losing points especially if it were another 450pt QMD or a 600pt gromacs. I though today maybe I should take the -advmethods flag off the graphical version and see how it does. But for the most part an AMD will out fold a P4.

I just went over to the F@H web site and in the forums I read something to the effect that only P4s get the "best" work units. Something about these work units getting a point bonus. Is this still true?

I think that is correct. It has been bothering me a little as well. I don't mind being assigned WUs talored to the resources I am donating, but the points inequity doesn't seem right. I remember UD weighting their points towards those with the "best" machines...... I quit that project.
