I just looked at the stats. During Dec, we did 3 times normal production. This was pathetic.

Come on guys, turn everything on !

Sad to see so many on the TeAm and so few in the race.

I posted our team top 30 total contributors for this challenge in [H]forum.
Your top 4 guys all have me beat... We need more people !

During the December race, we were doing 53 million every 3 hours if my math is good (3 billion the last week divided by 7, then by 8) We only did 33 million these last few updates. We need to double what we did during the race to win this, as they are doing 75 million every 3 hours.

Even our entire team wouldn't help that much.

A podium finish should still be in the cards. ;-)
I was just readin on the H forum. It seems that since "crypto is down" (whatever that really means) That there is a lot of extra hardware available to them, that normally isn'tI saw something on the news this morning about the reason the stock market was "crashing" was due to "crypto is down" and tech stocks are down. Now I am just repeating comments, I don't really know whats up, aside from my retirement fund is loosing $1000 a day, and being retired, thats not good !

Interest rate hikes by Feds has Wall Street spooked. They are pulling out of risk assets such as crypto and tech stocks. I decided to participate in this challenge before everything dropped as much as it has. My crypto wallet is bouncing all over the place in value!

I switched my GPU's from WCG to FAH for this , but don't get me wrong i mine sometimes as well because it pays the bills and helps me get new hardward for DC stuff.

If it's down to anything i would say its because we were a bit more proactive in recruiting people to join in this year ahead of time.
Also.... I am doing everything in my power to make it a full on race for next year without handicap. I think that is more fun for all involved even if someone loses by a large margin, we are still friends.

Yeah man. E[H]W is destroying TAAT this year. Congrats!

I'm sure they'd be up for it! ;)

But what would be (slightly) more useful was if my GPU crunched it's normal ~400k ppd instead of the dire 70k it's showing for this WU atm! Wth is that about?? o_O
GPU clock is at normal (u/c @1266 MHz).

Are you getting a bonus ? Is the GPU temp too high and its throttling ?

I'm certainly no expert, as this is the first time I've ever run Folding@Home, but I have noticed on all of my GPUs that they have received a few tasks that were really low PPD. I've also noticed that many of the tasks show a ridiculously low PPD at first, and then jump up to more normal numbers after they are running for a while.

Well, not sure what you mean on really low ppd, but your second comment is normal. After you get a unit, it takes a bit to calculate PPD,. I have very fast boxes and cards, so most of mine level out at 2% or so, but not sure what % yours at at when you say "running a while", but most likely normal.

Example, I have 4 5950x, the fastest AMD has with the below for the 4 boxes:
2080TI
3070
3070TI
3080TI

And the other boxes running all have 12 cores or more, 1950x is my slowest box, and all the rest have 2080TI's for video cards.

Not that it will matter much for this race, but Wif said that the power went out for 30 minutes here at home today. So no production from most of my junk for 5 hours or so?

[H] acking our power grids or Murphy working as normal? :) Maybe [H] has a Murphy on the team?

I hate to be negative, but I think our only chance would be if all that mining hardware failed from extreme use, but from what I have seen thats not going to happen.

But I will continue to do my part, 45-50 million ppd is my regular total, so nothing new to me. I just hate a contest where its not a contest, but a wipeout.

Not that this will ever happen, but speaking as someone who lost to cancer... If all the miners in the world would put that hardware to use in cancer research, our children would probably never see it in their lifetime.
