Congrats to ksherman on the milestone! :)

Danke!

Took my 9600GT to my computer at work to put it to use over night! :D

Though... It seems to be running at half the speed that it was on my big rig... Would only having 2GB of RAM and an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ cut the performance of the 9600GT down from 3000PPD to ~1900PPD? Any effective way to track how much work comes from which computer?

Thanks! Still learning, thanks for answering the questions! Can't wait to pop the Core 2 Quad in my home system.

The smaller amount of RAM and slower CPU should not affect the PPD from the GPU. Is that PPD on the same WU?

as in same size? Not really sure. I got into work a bit ago and the estimated PPD in FahMon is back around 3600, which makes more sense. Set up the VMware CPU client on my big rig last night, that puts me at three active clients! I cannot wait until the 5850 gets proper support...

One other thing I noticed.. On my machine with the 5850, the Priority level for FahCore_11.exe was defaulted to low. when I open the Display to check performance there, it was hovering around 300-400 iter/sec. I then set it to High and it jumped to over 1000, settling in somewhere around 800-1000 range. when I woke in the morning, that process defaulted back to Priority Low, presumably when a new WU came in? How can I force that process to always start at a High Priority? That's a pretty huge performance difference, or are the iter/sec not a useful measurement of performance?

FahMon should tell you how many points the WU is worth; you should only compare similar WUs.

You need to set the priority in the client configuration to slightly higher.

Slightly higher is still low priority; it only needs to be higher priority than the CPU client.

It was putting them both at "Low" :(

I ended up putting in the new Quad (the Tuniq 120 is not a heatsink you want to remove after a build ) and installed PriFinitty to monitor and change the priority and affinity to one CPU. Then the VM is using the other 3 cores. Workin so far! And the Q9550 is OCed from 2.83GHz all the way to 3.8Ghz with no funny business! Man overclocking has come a looooong way!

Thanks again.
