Thanks for stats.. Im still debating if i should upgrade to a GTX 280 over my current 8800gts. I keep thinking nvidia is going to do another huge price cut. 😛
 
is there any way i can set the smp client to only use 2 cores? ( so i can crunch on boinc with the two other cores...)

There isn't any setting for how many cores to use that I know of. Actually, the SMP client was designed for 4 cores. Running on dual core PCs works but isn't 'offically supported'.

You could set Boinc to use only 2 processor for that PC, or set the maximum use to 50%.
 
I don't know what is is, but all of a sudden, half my farm is getting EUE's ! Is anybody seeing this ? And I do nothing with these boxes, except F@H ! And I haven't touched them.

I'm away form home for a day, but noticed that the 9:30AM refresh showed no new points - look at all of the zeros under the latest update at Kakao Stats
 
I've been having server connection issues... it took my computer 30 minutes to send 2 completed WUs and receive new ones. That said, they appear to have sent okay so it might have just been a server hiccup that was fixed as I watched.
 
Everything has been finishing OK here. Quite some time since I've seen an EUE (It was my fault)

I read on the Folding forum that several machines are out for maintenance. I think that explains the points updates. (not the EUEs)

Mark, I am guessing there are network/router things going on at your place that you aren't aware of.

One the same box, smp1 is fine unit after unit, and smp2 EUE unit after unit ? can't be router
I have only one router anyway.
 
Mark, delete the core, queue and work files from the offending clients and reconfigure them. If that doesn't work I would completely uninstall the clients and reinstall them, both SMP1 and SMP2. If you save your work and queue files first you may be able to copy them back and not lose any work.
 
I have tried that on 2 machines already, no effect
Then I changed them over to Samba client, and its better, but now locks up at times, only one client. Restarting the client, and the progress doesn;t change, and no messages. Its the wierdest thing I have seen since I started folding 4 years ago.
