A little information about the new SMP client for Windows:
It uses up to four cores/CPUs so instead of many regular clients all you need is one.
BUT, it is a high performance client, so the deadlines are very short. It will run on a dual core system, but if it is not a newer system and run 24/7, it may not finish the WU in time to get points or do any useful science.

Even though these new high performance clients do lots of science quickly they don't do all types of calculations and so the regular client is still needed and does valuable science.
