Sorry about any slight name differences. Or errors.

Thanks to all who contributed - big and small 😀
And thanks to those who are crunching a WU and will be on the list soon 😉

Folding@Home TeAm #198

MDEs setup guide.

Thanks GLeeM 🙂

Uh, any idea what to do with a WU that's stuck at 60%? I've tried stopping & restarting the service... sometimes it will just process the frame over again & stop, sometimes it will process the next frame & stop.

Bummer! I've had things happen to lose a WU, but I don't recall something like this.

Does the FAHlog.txt say anything for a reason or error as to why it stops? I've seen "cannot continue" for a reason, but then it ends and sends what have done or deletes and gets another WU.

There is not another instance of F@H running somehow?

You can delete a WU by using the -queueinfo flag to find which slot in the queue the WU is and then use the -delete # flag to delete the WU, where # is the slot you found with -queueinfo.

Hate to do that when it is more than half done. How many points is it worth?

I'm grasping at straws here, try stopping the service and then running it with the console.

I'm glad these screwy WUs are rare!

HiYa Folder folks!

My mouth is watering..... my eyes are sparkling...... is it true? Did F@H really discontinue bonusing on the Work Units? Is it permanent?

I saw someone even bumped my rant thread ('simiply amazing') back from the dead at the F@H forums.....

If anyone has the time and remembers, please drop me a PM if it turns out that F@H is really making efforts (and actual progress ) to re-vamp their scoring.

-Sid

Hey there Gleem, thanks for pointing out that I am tied for 50th place so I can say ----

There's nothing in the F@H log that indicates why it's stopped. One thing i noticed when i was trying to restart the client several times was the time per frame differed wildly each time the client was started. Anywhere from 4 mins per frame to 30 hrs per frame.
I just tried restarting from the console & i'll let it run for a few hrs till i go to work & see how it goes.

Are you remembering that there is a default checkpoint every 15 minutes?

This can cause the first frame, after a restart, to be of varying length depending on previous checkpoints.

You have to wait for the second or third frame to check timings.

Hope this helps 🙂
