No kidding?

I'm surprised that he stopped making MTB'S. :Q

But then Bruce Gordon only makes cross bikes now. But then he's a ASSHOLE.

One of my customers told me a story about Gordon once.

He bought a bike from him (Back when he was making them here in Eugene) and asked him to throw in a water bottle. Gordon said NO. So he asked him to give him one for half price. Gordon took a bottle, cut it in half and said "Here you can have this one for half price." This after the guy spent BIG money for one of his road bikes.

There's a big article in a recent issue of Bicycling magazine about him. He (like me) is convinced that greater utilization of bikes is a simple and cheap solution to gridlock, pollution and even the recent epidemic of obesity and other health issues related to us generally being sedentary slobs. He's decided to forego the sporty-bike business to focus exclusively on commuter bikes. Pretty cool IMHO since the $5000 for one Segway will buy a mess of commuter bikes AND you get a workout while on them. ;)

Sounds like Vandertine from here.

But having worked with him, I have to say he's a major weirdo, though his heart IS in the right place. ;)
