Ok guys and girls. When this question came to mind, I thought this would be the best place to ask. Since I know there a quite a few A-techers out here in sunny Los Angeles, I call upon your knowledge to enlighten me as to which movie theaters have folding armrests. I've been going to the movies all my life, 19 years, and have only come across one. I came across this one last week actually, the AMC at The Block in Orange. I know that there are a few in Claremont/Rancho Cucamonga area but that is too far out of the way. Are there any on the west side of LA? I live near Venice Beach. I don't mind driving say 10-15 miles, but any farther and I'd might as well goto Citywalk, even though theirs don't fold up.:|

dude, go to the AMC in COVINA, i think its AMC 30 or 10, anyways, they have such beautiful seats.... if you put the armrest up in the entire row, it's like a long bed. its in such an incline that you'll never have some head in front of you (of course those are the rooms that are mainly for opening night)

So why drive to a special place just to get fold up arm rests? Do you want to get a little closer to the girl youre with or are you just too wide to fit between them comfortably?

Personally I want a foot rest at the theater

I found the first one I've ever seen in San Antonio. It was rather nice. Why don't they have more of those??

Soybomb: It was nice to be able to sit right next to my wife and not have the armrest grinding my elbow to little shards of bone.

Every AMC has them, as should any theater boasting "stadium seating"
I don't think the Edwards cinemas in OC have them though..

How'd I know someone would make a comment like that? Anyway, it is b/c of my lady. I hardly qualify as needing two seats, believe me! Anyway, did find one reasonable close to me, so that works out. Only problem is they want $9 for a ticket!!! WTF?? At least I can get $6 discount ones through work. Course, we went to see FF and I was so into the movie that she didn't get my usual level of attention. :p

Sorry man, some things I just can't pass up :D

Yeh the AMC's I've been to (i'm trying to remember what the one in ann arbor, michigan was...it might have bene amc but I'm not sure) didn't have folding arms, no theater I've ever been into has folding arms :( I'm just happy for a high headrest, although sometimes I worry about if the person there before me had a nasty head :D I still want a recliner seat with a foot rest for my long legs!

There are quite a few.. AMC 6 in burbank (on first street) folds up, the pacific theaters in northridge does too. In West LA I have no idea.. but most newer AMC's have the seat armrests that fold up.

Ontario has edwards and AMC that have them at the Ontario Mills. Though i don't think that is quiet to close to you. I have them next door to me, but I live in phoenix. And harkins is much better, theirs recline and they havea totaly kick ass sound system.
