Folder hangs when sharing files

I have an XP Pro box and a 2k Pro box and I want to share files between them. So I set it all up and everything seems to be working. I can see the folder from the other machine but when I go to select the files that are on the XP box(while im sitting at the 2k box) the folder locks and the task manger says it's not responding. So I go over to the XP box and try to drag the files across to the 2k box...same result. What gives?
