Well, if you take a dollar bill and fold it so the top of Geo Washington's head sits on his neck - you have a MUSHROOM CLOUD!!!

See . . . George KNEW!!!!

:D

Or do I need to post PICs for you? (Noooo time, heading for real SURF in SD). :)
Yes, a simple pleat in a one-dollar bill will bring you this startling revelation:

George = Mushroom

There are several possible interpretations. You can use this information to conclude that the Father of Our Country was a humungus fungus. You can view it as a reference to nuclear weapons. Or you can see it as a secret message from Timothy Leary (in which case you will probably want to smoke the dollar bill.)

I SCORED very good "Big Rock", La Jolla!!!

The tide was low and it was crowded when I got there . . . amazingly, half the crowd left within 10 minutes and THEN the swell started to come in (shoulder high to occ overhead). I got about 15 waves in 45 minutes before the "next shift" showed up.

Best of all, I got the Apartment I wanted in San Diego today . . . so, I will be back in the lineup tomorrow (as I move from the desert to SD).

:D

Thanks.

Isn't Kelly Slater from Cocoa Beach? I had a few good conversations with him at Pipeline (pre-Pamela Anderson days). He seemed a really genuine guy for World Chanp.

I guess Florida is less consistant than Cali but you guys do have your great days (hurricane swell). I moved back from Hawaii's North Shore (after spending 8 years continually there) 2 years ago . . . I had to settle for "only" three months (Jan-March) on the North Shore this year . . . there is just NO substitute for Hawaiian Surf (but La Jolla will have to do) . . . :D

EDIT: Maybe we should start our OWN thread. :D

BTW, Apartment prices are WAY UP in San Diego . . . I got really lucky to pay only $650 for a 1 bedroom apt reasonably near the coast.

2nd EDIT: HotChic, I missed your post.

Do you surf? Anyway, La Jolla really is the "jewel" of San Diego in so many ways . . . really nice beaches. And be sure to check out Black's Beach . . . the walk is worth it . . . a "nude" beach with a great wave.

Yeah Kelly Slater is from CB and the Hobgood Bros are from just a 5 more miles south in Satellite Beach. That's 2 recent world champs from this podunk east coast small wave capital :Q Hey! if you can make somethin' of our surf it means you can generate your own speed and power ;) You guys are spoiled, that's why we're takin' over :p EDIT: our own thread? .......Naw! Highjacking some guy's who is mental is much more fun :D

This has been noted many times . . . I agree . . . you do have to deal with small wind chop or just forget surfing (for days on end) . . . Cali usually doesn't have flat spells that last too long and I'd guess you can find head-high or bigger surf on Oahu 350 days a year (of course, you gotta know where to look).

Of course, Oahu gets surf that is sometimes just too damn big (I have often traveled to another shore to get away from those 50 foot N Shore waves) . . . 25 feet on the face at Pipeline was about as big as I dared surf (unconfortably).

And you're right . . . this repost thread was a huge waste until now. :D

I don't surf, I'm from NorCal and consider the coast too cold and rocky, although I do see the dedicated out there with their boards and wetsuits.

I know that area, the playground of the Great White . . . I use to make Surf Trips to Santa Cruz . . . had to wear a full suit in mid-Summer.

You'll love La Jolla . . . grab a boogie board and a pair of swim fins (you can have fun right away without having to learn to stand up) . . . the water right now is about 65-66F and should hit our Summer temps of about 68-69F in a couple of weeks (I do miss Hawai's 72-78F clear blue water . . . sigh . . . I will probably be back there for the Winter season . . .)

I am going to have to sign off soon . . . I am really tired (it's over 2 hours drive for me to SD and I gotta start moving tomorrow PLUS the surf will be UP for tomorrow at least the same as today - but more crowded).
