Can't believe this hasn't been posted yet. Might be newsmax isn't the most reliable source? Very interesting if true...

I don't see it on CNN, FOXNews or MSNBC yet.

most news agencies will only speak of it when they have minimized the threat to the potential death being to two people and a three legged dog. only then will it be fit for public consumption.

I just love the editors note. What a load of crap

The discovery of the al-Qaida WMD plot is sure to renew speculation that some of Saddam Hussein's missing weapons of mass destruction were hidden in Syria before the U.S. attacked in March 2003, and have now found their way into al-Qaida's hands.

they have no proof of this.

They can't prove speculation will be renewed?

The WMD's had to come from somewhere. This isn't stuff you can just go into 7-11 and buy . . .

usually the only way to prove something is a "WMD" is after it goes off, is about to be launched, or is in a temp storage facility. otherwise (in most cases) it is merely components that "could be used for legitimate purposes"

A Mexico cover-up of U.S. terror threats?
Task-force investigators find U.S. space center, George Bush International Airport among targets

While Washington is focused on finger-pointing over responsibility for 9-11, some of the 100 members of the Houston Task Force on Terrorism say Mexico is not fully cooperating on preventing the next jihadist attack on the U.S., a report by Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin finds.

The weekly online intelligence newsletter has learned from a source on the task force of fresh Mexico-based threats to NASA's Johnson Space Center, the George Bush Intercontinental Airport and industrial targets linked to the oil and power industries.

Task-force members say agents from various state, federal and local agencies are, because of corruption and bureaucratic red tape in the Mexican government, forced to sift through thousands of tips connected to possible terrorist build-ups south of the border without the kind of guidance and cooperation they would expect from a neighbor and ally.

One task-force source said the Mexican security community, especially the Center for Investigations and National Security, is still mired with political corruption and that members in President Vicente Fox's own administration insist they should be informed about any high-priority intelligence before it is passed on to U.S. authorities.

This at lest proves that it's important to do whatever we can to keep WMDs out of the hands of terrorists... One military action that has yet to turn anything up is no reason to believe that we don't need to worry about terrorists getting WMDs from rogue nations.

Sounds peachy, except that chemical weapons aren't that difficult to manufacture. It's old technology- Mustard, Lewisite and Chlorine were used in WW1, and the Japanese used some nerve agents in their WW2 China campaign, iirc...

The Japanese subway attack was done with homemade Sarin, and an ultra right Texas wacko named Krar was found in possession of a cyanide bomb, strictly homemade, along with a large assortment of other bombs, guns and a few hundred thousand rounds of ammo... and lots of friends and contacts throughout the US...

The effectiveness of chemical weapons is often overstated, as well, the number of potential casualties being estimated from the total weight divided by the minimum lethal dose, an entirely inaccurate method...

The notion that such weapons can practically be kept out of the hands of terrorists is laughable- they can buy, steal or make virtually anything short of nuclear if they so desire...

Maybe in 1985 I'd imagine you can buy it at every corner drugstore, but now, it's a little hard to come by!

I'm honestly confused as to why this story isn't getting more coverage.

Probably because of all the "chemical weapon mobile labs" and such we found. The press got burned by the false alarms. Perhaps they want to verify it more, rather than take a Drudge like attitude.

"The target of this bomb was the headquarters of the Intelligence Services," situated on a hill in the western suburb of Amman, he added.

since when does a suburb have a population density of 20,000 people to the square kilometer?
