Yes, that is more accurate that my description. Heavily spiced it was and I wasn't prepared for it. I would have more next time (thinking about going back before Christmas with my sisters and family.

Has to do with geography. The tropical foods are more heavily spiced because of the heat. They tend to be more salty too because they sweat it out.
 
Do they do the cooked pineapple at this joint too? I went to a local brazilian place that serve delicious pineapple afterward that calmed the belly down.
 
A caipirinha is just lime, sugar, and cachaça. Simple and delicious and will knock you on your ass if you aren't careful.
