For those who might be looking at buying a fog machine, I think this is an average price for a fog machine with 450-watt heater that produces 1500 cubic feet of fog per minute. Here's another one for the same price

And I'm pretty sure that Spencer's has the same thing for about the same price.

Cool Stuff Cheap's "$87.99" retail price listing for this is high. You can get:

A 700W 3,000 cu ft/min for $45 at etronics.com (only $6 more than the CoolStuffCheap but much more powerful)

A 700W 2,500 cubic ft/min for $60 at djmart.com

A 700W 2,500 cubic ft/min for $60 at samash.com

or a 700W high-output mini fog machine with 3,500 cubic feet per minute output for $70 at Musician's Friend

With the prices so low, now I can wait for the COPS tv show to feature someone trying to lose the police chaser by turning on their fog machine.

I hear these things leave a residue on your furniture, carpet, walls, etc which is the only reason I haven't bought one. Can anyone attest to how bad it is if it's bad at all?

we used one at a paintball field for airsoft. Was cool as hell but I can't really speak for the walls - they were already lined w/ layers of paint.
