FNC Shep Smith Apologizes after broadcasting a live suicide

Gruesome to think this happened and was shown to probably millions of people.

I do appreciate that Shep feels such a deep responsibility to his audience.


The short version of the story is that they were following a police chase that ended with the suspect running off a ways before shooting himself in the head.

Not nearly entertaining as seeing Oswald shot dead live when you are only 9 years old.

This obviously would not have happened had we had strict gun laws. The gentleman likely voted Democrat most of his life as well.

I think it's less an issue of televising violence, than it is to show respect for someone's death. Even if the individual is a dumbass.

It's one thing to broadcast intentionally, another to do so accidentally. Saw the video, don't care. But I also was the person who looked up the Nick Berg video when it was fresh. Kinda insensitizes you.

That's weird. I thought that most stations now have a live delay after that big incident awhile back in L.A. where the guy stopped on the 105 freeway onramp and shot himself while like every major station was showing it live.

I saw the clip, and you saw him put the gun to his head and "pull" the trigger, but then he bent over as if the gun wasnt loaded. I assumed he loaded it and tried again because it cut to the news anchor saying "cut it off, cut if off, cut it off!"
