So it's 10:45 PM on a Sunday. I'm sitting here, enjoying my ATOT, when some car comes cruising down the street 'bumping phat tunes' or some shit, rattling things on the shelves across the room. I live in a very quiet, friendly residential area, with a lot of families. Loud music would have been fine where I lived before, in the heart of the student ghetto, but not here. Can't the little punks learn to turn down their subs when people are trying to sleep?

I had four 12" subs in my last car, but even then I always made sure to cut the sub amp levels after 10pm so I didn't disturb anyone. Am I just getting old or do people have no common courtesy anymore?

Courtesy was never common but, has definitely decreased. Adults, teenagers and, kids see no value in being courteous because they never experienced it (or the consequences of being rude) when they grew up. Too many think being polite and playing the game is being a phony.

There's a parking lot around the other side of the building, at the front of the store. Idiots like to park there while their friends/SO's/whatevers go inside, and they sit there for several minutes with "music" playing loudly. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, or if the store is even open or not. There is a soda machine out there, and I guess that makes it a popular hang-out spot. Noon, 8pm, 3am, doesn't matter. These are the same dicks who have those anti-muffler things on their cars, designed to satisfy their primal urges to make lots of noise, so as to attempt to impress potential mates and scare off rival males.

A lot of these ghetto kids get cheap subs. They care about loudness not quality. I had a friend in high school who catered directly to these kind of people. For $150-200, he could get you a really loud sub setup. Something that would get you noticed when you drive around. It sounded like crap though.

At my old apartment, there was this guy in his 40s who worked on Harleys. Needless to say, he woke several of us up at about 5:40AM everyday. Monday through Friday and sometimes on the weekends. The Dick had the audacity to even rev it a few times in his driveway. The area had a couple apartments wrapped in residential housing, which was great because it had a neighborhood feel and kids would play outside, making it peaceful and felt more like 'home'.

That guy was a douche and said that his wife has the car and he drives the motorcycle. Period. Funny how a truck would show up during the winters though and he'd use that for transportation...

Loud pipes are dumb. The last thing I would want while riding a motorcycle is the sensation that I'm actually driving something powered by a broken boat motor.
