This would be my guess as well. IF they choose to cover the damages, they'll likely recoup more than the cost of repairs via rate increases.

With a $1000 deductible, you should likely just get an estimate on your own to see what things will cost beforehand. If it's not much more, you might not even want to get insurance involved.
