I fail to see the humor in acting like an asshole in every thread.

I see little as well but think about it ... the forums allow people to act anything but "normal" because we are basically anonymous and most if not all of the other members of the forum do not know us. The guy may act perfectly normal in-person becuase of social pressures and the fact that he would find it difficult (if not impossible) to act that way in public, at work, etc.

The forums allow TFP to be himself.

Always seems like the best posters go missing for weeks at a time. nick was banned, godless astronomer is or was banned, pig is banned (again). We even had a week without amdhunter accusing everyone of being racist.


It's worth noting that one of my friends is a member of this forum and she expressed frustration that nobody ever pays attention to her posts. She makes real posts. Guys like flying pig post insane bullshit and they get quoted for multiple pages, then people wonder why trolling is so popular.

I like the pig, and while much of what he says is ridiculous, it sometimes contains profound truths. The pig is the unrestrained id of ATOT.
