hello--
tomorrow I plan on flying back to school with some hardware that I got good prices on down here at home. since they don't exactly handle the baggage as well as I think they should, I want to take everything as a carry-on. currently, I have a boxed gigabyte SINXP1394 motherboard, a boxed P4 2.66MHz CPU, and 2 sticks of samsung PC3200 512mb RAM in my backpack carryon. Additionally, I am going to carry a boxed cannon scanner (i forget the model #, but its like $50) by the handle as a sepearte carryon. so, I am going to take all of this stuff to the security checkpoint before the terminal, load it onto the belt, and let it go through the security machine..
before i actually do this, i wanted to ask: does anyone think this is a bad idea? anyone gone through with hardware and had problems--if so, what? likewise, anyone succesfully taken any of this type of hardware through the security checkpoint?
thanks!
