It depends on the situation, but you might be escorted out, too. However, you could burn the American flag elsewhere as well.

They might arrest you if people aren't allowed in New Orleans yet. You can run around your own street with a burning flag and screaming 'Praise Allah' or whatever other mythical sky daddy if you would like to do that.

But will I get arrested or attacked by Americans?

Flag burning in itself is not a crime. It's not exactly extremely rare.

You may be attacked by some Americans - I'd guess that it would be pretty random and would depend on the people around you.

So would you say some(many?) Americans don't practice the freedom they preach?

Americans are not a hive mind mentality. The government itself has not made flag burning illegal and you should be allowed to burn the flag. It's not a rare event.

I am sure a lot of people would attack you. I mean, one time I saw a lot of cars stuck in traffic across from my subdivision. I went to check out what was the reason. Turns out it was an American flag laying in the middle of the street. This shows a lot of people have respect for the flag. I picked it up, and everyone was on their way.

EDIT: May I also point out this was a few weeks after 9/11

I'm guessing that you're being sarcastic with your first sentence.

They are mandated to do random searches, but it may be that people who appear Middle Eastern are searched more often. However, you didn't 'score' since the random searches at the airport are not only for Muslims.

3) Yes and yes. Woulda been very hard for my mother and two sisters to keep their job(shocking eh?) if they couldn't drive(more shocking eh?). If you must know mother is a nurse, one sister is a chemical engineer and another works in business.
