Flush em if you got em! (DSLR is...so can we)!

Seems a few DSLR are flushing a few stored caches of completed WU's today....so I challenge any of you to do the same.! :Q:Q:Q

Remember, if any of the WU's were produced prior to the 1st (start of Race), they won't count toward the race, but will help the TeAm total :D

I wouldn't flush if your systems flush on a timely manner (i.e. one time per day), but if you have a few PC's that have a few WU's sitting...let em fly...! :)

Crunch and Race on! :D

It's times like these that I wish I had a secret cache of WUs just ready to transmit... ;)

One of my Tiger MP rebooted overnight. It was using a Crucial 256 Registered DDR and upon reboot it only shows 128 MB.

I hope the harddrive will not require reformatting or reinstallation of Windows 2000 (NTFS). When it rebooted it mentioned something about driver being corrupted. It should have at least 2 completed workunits inside this drive.

Now I need new memory and the prices seems more than double since I last purchase memory:|

IsOs...that's exactly what happened to to my Tiger MP with Crucial ram....:(

You could try to reseat the ram and see if that helps....mine didn't though.

Corsair has been fine though. :)

Sorry, but true to form, I don't keep any WUs back. I flush em as I crack em. :)

Yeah, theres no need to worry, as long as we flush at least according to rules, then we will get credit in the end :)

Just like Ray, I send in any WUs I process, except my work fleet [evil grin], which is on dial up. I shall be uploading those tomorrow morning

I was reading somewhere, maybe overclockers.com maybe not, that Tyan hasn't approved Crucial for their boards and that is why. I guess that Kingston and Corsair work without problems though.

Tyan had the TigerMP listed on their site for some time but removed it about 1.5 months ago...not sure if they added it back or not. There have been many documented problems (including 2 by me) with Crucial Ram and the Tyan Tiger MP board.....:(

Like I said, Corsair 512 and 2 x 256 Crucial in my board have worked great so far....(crosses fingers) :)

I have 4 Tiger MPs all with Crucial memory and only this one failed after 1 day of contineous SETI crunching. Just when there's a race going on:(

Where's the best place to shop for corsair or kingston memory. I visited corsair and they don't sell online direct.

Rival- Yep you're good.

I've been seaching around for that article I read but I can't seem to find it. Anyway from what I've heard some Tyan Mp boards don't work with Crucial RAM and the one that do will ruin them after not to long. I would advise pulling the Crucial from all of those and get Corsair or Kingston. I know that Best Buy sells Kingston, you could get it today and not have to pay shipping.

Baldy18,

With the current high memory prices, pulling the working crucial ram at this time is not practical - I don't have money to replace them. I might be able to afford buying 1 256MB Kingston memory - just to get this Tiger back in operation. I'm trying to see who sell them at the best prices.

I found a local dealer selling registered Kingston memory 256MB at $110 plus 4% Hawaii Tax. Is there aplace that sell much lower, including shipping that I can depend on?

I visited bestbuy.com but was not able to find registered PC2100 DDR modules.

IsOs,

When shipping is included (ususally 2nd day Air just to get to Hawaii), your price actually comes out better than most I could find...sorry :(

Warm days, beautiful beaches, great people.....but high shipping prices....:Q

(Can't have everything I guess...:confused;)

IsOs and Engineer,

Are either of you guys running a 3Com network adapter on your Tiger MPs? I fried three Crucial 256MB sticks on mine, and finally decided to get ahold of the head of Crucial's test labs to try and figure this out. He told me that one of the correlations they've seen with memory failure is the use of a 3Com NIC on the board with their RAM.

The 11th of last month, I pulled the 3Com and replaced it with an Intel Pro/100. So far, no RAM failure. I was averaging about three weeks before a stick would fail, so it might be a bit early to determine anything one way or another, but it would be interesting to know if you guys are using 3Coms.

BTW, the Tiger MP is still listed at Crucial's site; the Thunder that is pulled.

Russ,

Yep...using the 3Com (popular model, don't remeber which one) NIC in the Tiger board. Haven't had a problem since the Corsair/Crucial combination though....

That's interesting though.........hmmmmm......

(I have a Linksys and a DLink NIC sitting around...may try to change just for the heck of it)...

The TigerMP that the Crucial memory failed is NOT using 3Com card. The NIC is an ASAOUND 8139 10/100 card. The video is an old PCI Matrox card.

I pickup a Kingston 256MB registered DDR and it booted without having to do anything with the harddrive.:)

Now I just hope I can get this Crucial memory replaced. I'll call them tomorrow.

Lifetime Warranty! Very nice and they have replaced several for me with no problems! The only downside is that "YOU" have to pay to ship the old one back..

Good Luck! :)

I can't seem to find any of my invoices from Crucial. All I have is an order number. I'll know tomorrow if I'll have a problem getting a replacement.

They pulled it up from my order history. No problems from them for me....hope the same for you :)

I got the RMA # & have send the broken module back. I opt not to have my card charged and wait until they receive the memory before sending me the new one.

I figure since I don't have any new motherboard & cpu, it doesn't matter if I receive the replacement 3 weeks from now.:)

Now anyone have the NEW 760MPX dual Athlon motherboard? You can make me drool if you share your experiences. I'm particularly interested in knowing what's the fastest SETI will go with these new boards:D
