What if you want firmer rice that stil sticks to each other.
Buy the right rice :awe:

+infinityI could make an equally stupid assumption in the other direction.
"lol all these stupid ATOT'ers who don't know how to cook the simplest of all foods on planet earth, trying to justify the shitty wedding gift they got re-gifted from aunt Bertha."
Because it's a matter of opinion? Having used both, I'd take a single piece sauce pan over the two piece cooker that needs to be plugged in.
no, it was not the whole point, it was one of many points, you just chose to cherry pick it.
you showed a video of a specific shitty model that tbh, looked pretty flimsy. And it was in response to me asking you what SPECIFIC model you owned, which you haven't answered.
I didn't suggest submersing it, but don't kid yourself, the surface of a stove is easier to clean than the surface of a rice cooker. And assuming I'm not eating just rice for dinner, I'm ALREADY cleaning the surface of the stove.
blah blah
Pros-
It's small, takes less counter space.
It does the job it was made for.
Cons-
It's a little slower than my old Rival rice cooker. It also makes a mess, spurting starchy water everywhere.
I don't like the attached lid as it makes clean-up take longer.
2. Very tough to clean. There are lotta small pockets where the steamed rice water gets into...and its impossible to clean it completely
3. There is always a spill...rice water is on top of cooker and on bottom while cooking, even when I add just exactly the amount of water thats needed for the rice to cook correctly
And the cons:
* Impossibru to completely clean. You cannot remove the rubber gasket so the starchy rice water collects and dries between the lid and the gasket. The lip along the cooker top also has areas where rice water can collect. You literally have to go at these areas for at least 5 minutes with a damp kitchen towel after each use. That is besides cleaning the inner rice bowl.
So... 137 posts later and I decided to buy the $30 Aroma rice cooker from Amazon. Didn't quite realize this would lead to people arguing whether a rice cooker is inconvenient because you can't masturbate while holding the pot in your other hand, but I guess this is ATOT afterall.
stop fucking around with $30 rice cookers.

sushi, brown, white, dry, wet, keep warm, easy cleaning, this mother fucker does it all. it will even tickle your balls if you rest your nuts on top.
I so not want a huge one to begin with, is just the wife and I.
Generally, it's just my wife and I as well...I just make 2 scoops of rice. (the minimum the cooker says)
Does it take a bit of storage space in the cupboard? Sure...but so does the 25 lb. bag of rice I buy.
FWIW, other than my time in the USMC, especially while I was in RVN, I don't think I've come close to consuming 25 lbs of rice total...since buying the rice cooker and using jasmine rice, I went through 25 lbs in less than 1 year. (and my waist line shows it!)

Probably because you didn't want your fellow Americans to think you were Việt cộng :whiste:
Be real, man. Genuine Viet Cong use rice pots over an open fire.
Did you even read his post that I quoted? Didn't it seem just the tiniest bit condescending with the "white people" comment? Never mind that practically every ethnicity and race on every continent makes dishes with rice and very little of it comes out of an Asian style rice cooker.
Had some friends over tonight and made some jasmine rice in the new Aroma ($30 cooker). Perfection. Rice finished up about 30 minutes before dinner and was nice and hot when we were ready to sit down. Everyone loved it. Excellent buy.
Were you overburdened with the amount of cleaning necessary to use it?

Your pretty much a constant asshole just because you want to be, right?Just imagine how good it would be with a $300 rice cooker!![]()
Or imagine how good it would be if you could actually cook rice yourself.
Your pretty much a constant asshole just because you want to be, right?
Only thing I can figure out.
Have any other reasoning otherwise ?

How many hands did you have to use?Yes. It was awful. I had to remove the pot from the cooker, AND gently wipe it with a sponge. Total bullshit.
