I get them but only because insurance covers 100% of the cost and they do immunizations in the building. If I had to start paying or it became inconvenient to get them done I wouldn't bother.
Done it every year for the last few. Always feel a little cruddy for a couple days afterwards, but nothing serious.
Right now, my roommate is starting to feel better after having "a stomach bug - NO IT'S NOT THE FLU - I just have some muscle cramps and can't decide whether it's hot or cold in here... I think I'll lie down for a few hours..." for a week+, and I didn't get sick at all.
... Worth it, but I don't like needles, and the last time I had it was 3 or 4 years ago in February/March, late in the season. Must have gotten it in the foodcourt opening a contaminated door that a few thousand people touch daily.
I've been getting a Flu shot for the last 8 years and have been Flu free! I think it is luck tho because my Doctor said the shot only covers the worst ones coming over seas and they are only cover bronchial flues.
I don't usually, but I hear that this season's strain is pretty nasty so I probably will. My employer will reimburse me for it, so I'll probably drop by CVS or something early next week.
I've been getting the flu shot every year for years now. Company pays for it so I just show up, roll up my sleeve and that's it. I didn't even feel any mild symptoms from it this year.
For all the folks worried about needles you know they offer a nasal version of it correct?
Also anyone opting out if you are sick stay home and definitely stay away from older people, pregnant women and anyone who has a chronic condition.
I never get it.. I don't really ever get the flu.. My gf, OTOH, an educator, is required to get it every year. She gets sick a lot. So, I'll continue to NOT get it.
Yeah, I hang out with my family in the winter months and there are always babies and kids. They're disease-ridden, and I'd feel guilty if they got something from me.
Company pays for it and brings people in to work to do it, and needles (especially these tiny things) don't bother me.
I don't usually get the shot, because I just don't think I'll catch the bug. If the situation presents itself where I'm there and they're giving the shot for free/cheap, then I'll get it.
