I was listening on a local sports talk radio yesterday here in DC about Floyd Mayweather and I must agree with the hosts (which is uncommon) that Pretty Boy Floyd is a fucking moron....

Drives up to a strip club in Miami and makes it rain with 100k in 20 dollar bills....

oh yeah and he drives a 2 million dollar armored vehicle up to the club

Yeah, what an idiot. For a fair comparison of just how stupid he's being, let's compare him to an average person taking in a salary of around $45,000 (Mayweather makes around $90,000,000 per year). That's the equivalent of that average person spending $50 at the strip club; scandalous! And then driving off in a $1,000 car. Outlandish! I've never heard of such irresponsible shenanigans.

Don't get me wrong, I think Mayweather is dumb as a stump. But he's also rich as fuck, and I bet he had himself a pretty damn good time dropping 6 figures at the strip club, so it seems a little bit petty to chastise him for it.

$90 million per year before taxes and all the fees he has to pay to accountants, etc. He also gambles $7 million on a single game and loses: http://windycityiggy.sportsblog.com/post/14906/floyd_mayweather_bets_7_million.html I think his gambling addiction will be his biggest downfall, he needs to manage that.

You need to follow his gambling closer, nobody wins all the time. He's way ahead on gaming, and by way ahead I mean in the past 2 years from gambling he's won more than every ATOTer's combine probably 10 times over. He might have lost 7 mil on a singla game, but he probably won it back 2 weeks later and then some.

I bet overall he is down and in the end, the bookies will win out.

I would say for a fair comparison let us work out how much spare money both people would have after paying mortgage, utility bills, food expenditure etc on an average sized house in the US.

Look at it that way and it is like the "average" person spending $1 at the strip club then walking home barefoot.

I'm always gambling myself and follow sports betting closely. It's widely known that last year Mayweather made more betting on college football/basketball than anyone in Vegas. Using common sense would also be a good indicator here. He known for routinely placing million + dollar bets on sporting events. Many in the 5+ million range. If he wasn't winning a lot more than he was losing, he'd be broke. Vegas Bookies won't release exact numbers, but they have commented on him being the single biggest winning sports better in Vegas in 2012. I've heard stories where him betting $15 million in a month isn't unheard of, and during NCAA Final 4 it can be quadruple that. He bet something like 10 million on the Superbowl last year and won. Apparently he wins a lot of big bets and is very lucky.

I noticed that the real rich people will have nice toys (yachts, boeing business / gulfstream jets, etc) but they don't tell the whole world about it and post it on Twitter / youtube (hey look at me!). A lot of athletes and rappers love to show off on the other hand.

doesn't make them any less rich...

I can't wait until this fool is broke.

He'll make a 100 million this year from boxing, he already has 300 million. You waiting for him to be broke reminds me of the people who are waiting for him to lose a fight. He fights in September and will make 50 million.
