So, I need to purchase some flowers. Probably a dozen roses.

If I purchase them the night before, and keep them in a room that's about 72 degrees, will they be ok by the next morning? (Like 8 amish or so)

How long do I have before they start to lose their petals and such?

I didn't do anything wrong... we've just hit a milestone, and I figure they're a nice addition to what I'm going to be doing for her.

I wish the administators had had the foresight to make a botany/florists forum :p

I suggest you get these boxed (so you can take them out and put them back) and do what others have said, put them in water.

Or, maybe they can put some of the floral foam in the wrapping.

I'm too cheap, so I'll just put them a vase and set them on the table while the wife is gone or out of the room.

Why? This thread clearly belongs in the General Hardware subforum...

Using SHARP scissors/shears cut off 1/2" of stem at an angle, put 'em in some water, and throw them in the fridge
