Flowering Screen of Death

I just got three of these today...

I'm in the middle of a game, when suddenly the video goes out and the monitor shows a brilliant display of colored pixels in a pattern, kind of like a kaleidescope, and a hard reboot is required. I was wondering what causes this...my video drivers are up to date, my GPU isn't overheating (I ran a rthdribl test and it peaks at about 45C under load). Thanks.

Yep, either that or the RAM on the video card is overheating (or failing).

No, the card looks physically fine.

The weird thing is, I can play CS for hours at a time without anything happening, but sometimes the screen will show up after just a few minutes of play.
