Flourinert

Does anyone know where I can aquire flourinert (for those who do not know, flourinert is a special non-conductive liquid that has been used by Cray, Inc. for supercomputer cooling)?

I think it's fluorinert. I guess your best bet would be to contact 3M

Before you bother, my friend has looked into this stuff before. It's apparently very expensive.

Just went and found a distributor (not probably a real good one mind you since it was in france I believe), but it was somewhere in the range of 3500-4000 francs for 1kg which I think is the size of a small slam (pepsi). That roughly translates to $500 bucks for that amount. I think I will continue to consider mineral oil an alternative for imersion cooling.

Here is the link for a higher temp stable version of flourinert. (Doesn't vaporize until something like 150)

The lower heat of vaporization versions are cheaper. (Only about a 1/3 as much, but will turn to gas at just above room temp and that isn't something I would want to work with).
