I think it's now common knowledge that Florida is where people move when their backs are against the wall and their lives are basically over.
 
I lived there in Broward Co. from 1973 to 1975. In the southeast you've got the northeast losers escaping from something. On the west coast you've got mid westerners and more Canucks than on the east coast escaping from something. It's kind of like the Wests coast losers escaping to Alaska to hide from something. Something about the far reaches of each end of the country you end of with the odds and ends of society and people can end up on the deep end with no connection to family or anybody.
 
You had me at meth... When do we all move to Florida? Growing up in Michigan, every summer we'd hop in the station wagon and drive down to the different part of Florida and stay somewhere new. Used to look so forward to being down there. The fuck has happened down there since I last visited...

Those are more mundane topics. Murder happens everywhere and often is a sign of deep psychological disturbance.

The Florida stories are more a sign of... Well something far more ridiculously comical.

Well it -used- to be cheap to live here, not so much anymore, wind insurance, (yea, we've had to buy separate wind policies for awhile now) are getting expensive. We also have a huge homeless population, (as does Cali) because if your homeless 60 degrees at night is a lot better than 10 degrees.
 
I thought this thread was going to be about a person who shot a black teenager and expected to get treated by firearms enthusiasts as a hero....
