It's amazing watching him work himself up. I imagine he will have convinced himself that it was a 'good shoot' within the next page or two.

There is no such thing as a 'good shoot'. There is 'justified shoot' and 'unjustified shoot.' But anytime someone gets shot it's a bad thing. Anyone who feels happiness or elation over someone getting shot, for any reason, is messed in the head.

I agree, that's just how he refers to them. He's both a racist and someone who clearly gets satisfaction from the death of people in these kinds of circumstances.

But anytime someone gets shot it's a bad thing.

Well, I'll have to beg to differ with you there. There's lots of people out there that deserve to be shot. But this 43 YO ex-vet who was out with his wife to catch a movie was definitely not one of them.

Do people deserve to get shot? Like a criminal in the act of a crime and threatening the lives of others? Absolutely. No question. Is it 'good' that they got shot? No. The 'good' outcome was for the scenario where someone gets shot to have never occurred.

If you think it's a good thing then guns are just your stand-in for porn.

Amazing and sad. He most likely suffers from an inferiority complex and desperately seeks the attention of others. Unable to think logically or reasonably, he resorts to "shock" value debate; picking words to say based on their inflammatory value.

No different from the shock jocks of broadcast fame, except that they're getting (well) paid to generate controversy and increase listenership. Which is also sad.

These sorts of violent outbursts seem common with our modern progressives in P&N.

I think it's why they associate with young buck so easily, they can picture themselves in a movie theater losing their temper and throwing popcorn at some poor moviegoer who dares ask them to shut down the phone.

While you desperately want to shoot someone to prove you are tough.

"But the victim threw popcorn at the shooter, POPCORN!!!"

Maybe the real victim, the shooter, was only forced to shoot because the perp might have been a ninja! You never know when someone could accelerate a popcorn kernel with enough force to cause harm.

Popcorn is responsible for 170-190 deaths each year! He was in mortal danger.

Since it's a gun thread, here's another amusing fact: more people are killed by popcorn each year than by the evil, deadly AR-15.

Lessons have been learned for those still alive. Learn some manners when in the company of others.

Back in the 1990s, a man was at the corner of 34th and 5th Avenue. Every time someone bumped into him and did not apologize he would cut them with a razor blade. Lessons were learned that day as well.

We need to ban popcorn.
Think about the children.

Paranoid popcorn nuts think we're going to take away their snacks, but we just want common sense restrictions like bag size limits and universal cholesterol tests before every purchase. As a strong supporter of popcorn myself, I don't think anyone needs movie theater butter.

What's kind of amusing is that Mr. Gun Control Mike Bloomberg actually did try to regulate popcorn and soda. For the children, of course.

I don't know, I had a pretty big smile on my face when I was standing in my battalion headquarters seeing "Osama Bin Laden shot dead by Navy SEALS" on Fox News.

So according to SpatiallyAware, if a woman goes to have an abortion and is harassed, bullied and spit on by rabid pro-lifers, she has a consitutional right to open up the protestors. Interesting........

Being a "good shoot" has nothing to do with being happy over someone getting shot. It does, however, have everything to do with being happy that you got out of a situation alive.

A good case is the one where some known rapist/burglar was going after a little girl hiding in her closet. She shot him, and killed him.

I'm not happy that the guy died, but any issues I might have with a known rapist/home invader getting shot is outweighed by being happy that a little girl didn't have to go through being raped and/or killed.

Of course, as is typical with the modern progressive mindset........ I'm guessing that being raped is not as bad as a rapist getting shot.

Well the spit might be analogous to the popcorn throwing. Are there other pro-lifers holding back the spiter making it reasonable to think that they might start landing blows?

Depends on the situation.. Is it a seemingly defenseless woman, alone, being harassed to the point where she can't call for help, cornered, being spit on and bullied by numerous people to the point to where her life is threatened? If so, sure, I support her defending herself via any means necessary.

And ultimately, the crux of this case really isn't about whether or not this is legal. It's pretty clear that throwing popcorn does not cause someone to fear for their life, so the shooter will likely serve time.

The issue here is that legal or not, if you confront someone you just might get dead. And when you're dead leaving behind a widow and child, it's not going to matter whether or not it was legal.

THAT is my problem... That a father, husband, is not only so selfish and daft as to pull his phone out in a theater, but he also is bullying a poor old man and throwing popcorn at him. I place that blame squarely on the young buck who initiated this entire thing and left his family without a father.

Again..... Legal or not, that sort of behaviour is not tolerable and if you act that way towards a crazy you could very well end up dead... Gun or no gun.

Shit dude there are enough instances of pro-lifers attacking that it is a foregone conclusion that they are going to. I'm just saying if a women shot a pro-life protester and she said she feared for her life, I would be very amenable to SpatiallyAwares and your arguments. So you got me there half way. For me, it would totally depend on the persons involved. If the victims were conservative nutters who were harassing normal people, I could see myself aquitting.

Basically, if they're "one of your own" then you support it. It's ok, florida jury tends to think that way as well, so go ahead and get your pitchfork ready for when the poor old fogie who was attacked by a young buck gets acquitted.

You should be ashamed.

No, conservative nutters scare me. According to you, that is the acid test (the shooters fear). Based on what you have posted, I have a very real and justified reason to fear you..... you are one wrong word or move away from opening up.

??

Do you go around spitting on people?

Do you accost old men in movie theaters and throw popcorn at them?

I live in a VERY gun friendly state, and I have never once in my life been worried at all about someone shooting me.

But, I'm not a raging asshole that goes around starting confrontations. Based on your behaviour in this forum, you clearly are one of those people.

So, I can definitely understand why you are worried about getting shot. But... Take away the gun, and you still have knives.. Bats... Fists....

The problem is you, not the people around you.

Misrepresenting the situation to bolster your point again. To acost someone required an approach. The approach was inititated by the old man because he felt texting during the previews was unacceptable. Words by both escelated the situation but throwing popcorn escelated it more. Still didn't rise to the level of a shooting.

Most unarmed people would have waiting until the movie started to "confront" him about texting or get a manager.
