It is unclear whether he was licensed to be armed or whether the club owner even knew he was armed. But he wasn't a patron. He was there to provide security. Which he did.

HAHAHAH, he was a bouncer, not a security guard. OMG. I was a strip club bouncer for awhile myself. There is a huge difference in what you are stating.

See, it's unhinged modern progressives like this who end up starting fights with law-abiding gunowners and getting shot.

Even though I know I'm replying to a troll account, welcomes the opportunity for some 'law-abiding' gun owner like 'yourself' to attempt to draw first and see what happens...

He is just a troll who gets angry when people dare disagree with his idiotic liberal views.

These sorts of violent outbursts seem common with our modern progressives in P&N.

I think it's why they associate with young buck so easily, they can picture themselves in a movie theater losing their temper and throwing popcorn at some poor moviegoer who dares ask them to shut down the phone.

For Reeves, anything more than 10 will probably be life.

Yeah, I know. You know what's funny? How people like SA readily acknowlegde the consequences of being like "young buck" while being totally oblivous to the fact humans have only so many years to spend ankle-grabbing during lockdown.

It's ultimately a lose-lose for both parties.

I strongly disagree.

If you are the type of person who has no problem throwing popcorn and getting into altercations with 70 year old men then it's a matter of time before you piss off the wrong person. Whether they retaliate via gun, knife, bomb, whatever doesn't matter. Make guns illegal and these people will resort to other methods.

Sure, the guy is probably unstable. And society is always going to have mentally unstable people, which is why starting confrontations is a risky thing to do.

And, like I said before, one crazy with a gun does not outweigh the right to self defense....

And yet someone being killed for throwing popcorn in someone's face is apparently rare enough that it hit the news and we're discussing it now.

Progressive scumbags love to claim tolerance but they don't believe in it.

Only because you nutter gun grabbers make a huge event any time someone who happens to have a gun screws up.

Or maybe it's a rare event, which makes it newsworthy. Many killings attract news articles of some sort, so I'm sure you can link plenty of other cases where popcorn throwers were stabbed to death, beaten to death, etc. Sure they might not get the national prominence that only the Worldwide Gun Grabber Conspiracy can provide, but according to you death is only a matter of time for these popcorn vigilantes anyway so I'm sure you can find some info.

If that were the case he would've simply shot the guy, but that's not what happened.

The old man went out, let a manager know that some rude moron was ruining the movie, and was confronted when he returned to the seat. All evidence indicates that he was trying to de-escalate the situation, not resolve it himself.

The problem is that he didn't alert the manager because he was too agitated to wait for him/her to finish with another customer. Then he returned to the theater in a huff about it.

This is all corroborated by eye witnesses.

Look, I'm pro-concealed carry, but believe it comes with the responsibility to deescalate any confrontation. This is not what happened here.

Confirming "more guns, less crime"

Author: Plassmann, F. / Whitley, J.
Publication: Stanford Law Review
Topics: Criminology Gun Carrying Legislation and Policy Ownership
Keywords: county-level data response right-to-carry
Bibliographic information +
The authors analyzed county-level data 1977 to 2000 regarding the impact of right-to-carry (RTC) laws. They reported that during the first five years that a RTC law is in effect, the total benefit from reduced crimes usually ranges between about $10 and $15 billions. When considering each additional year that a RTC law is in effect, the authors found that murder rates were reduced by 1.5-2.3% per year.

I have a feeling that most people thought the old dude was, at least originally, being much more rude than the victim. I mean he starting yelling at a random guy, and refused to drop it. Then he went a shot the bastard, so now none of those people got to see their movie, had to witness a murder, had to take their time to give statements and will probably have to testify in court.

So tell me, how exactly was the victim the jackass in this situation? I'd so much rather have someone text in front of me, then witness a murder and all the time consuming crap that comes afterwards.

Right. Every report I've read states that the old guy was the belligerent, rude, aggressive one. He started the situation, he escalated it, and now he has ruined the lives of many people. What a gutless dipshit.

You need to control that temper before it comes around to bite you.

Wow, are you in competition with Incorrupitble and Nehalem to become the lowest piece of trolling fuck in these forums?

You should ship your sorry ass off to Somalia where you can open carry AND shoot the shit out of everyone when you feel like it and leave the First World to the sane. Just remember to clean your own jizz out of the receiver.

No, for the very reason that I don't think it's OK to shoot a married ex-vet with a 2 year old daughter in a movie theater because you got hit by popcorn.

Anyone defending the shooter here is either a vile troll or a worthless sack of biomass. The same type of people that Rule 34 the Newtown shootings.

LOL, I was a bouncer. I'm speaking from experience here. They are nothing more than a min wage worker that checks ID's and takes out the trash sometimes. They aren't armed with a security guard permit the same way a legal security guard would be. They don't go through any special training to be a bouncer besides maybe how to spot a fake ID.

"Baer, state records show, was new to the club. He was hired by Allure Entertainment Inc./Mystic on Jan. 4 of this year, and was working under a temporary work permit issued by the state Department of Public Safety, Standards and Training.

The temporary permit allows a person to legally work while their license application is processed, said Brian Henson, the state agency's acting program manager for its Private Security/Investigator's Licensing Program. Baer had completed a written exam, a 4-hour assessment and eight-hour classroom instruction in late December to serve as an unarmed private security officer. He was not licensed as a private security officer to carry a firearm on the job, Henson said."

I never defended the shooter you troll. I said he should be locked up.

And if you're going to call me out like that and resort to insults expect me to respond. Don't want to hear what I have to say? Then don't call me out.

Your love to deride and belittle victims of gunshots continues to amaze.

I will take at face value the police's confidence after interviewing people so close to the argument that the guy literally fell on their lap bleeding to death after being shot and also interviewing the off-duty cop. The combination of off-duty cop witness, witnesses within 1 ft of shot, and police confidence paints a picture of the ex-sheriff being far more at fault and directly contributing to the escalation than the "young buck".

Even if we take your hilariously biased description of the event "person loses their temper and throws popcorn at a poor moviegoer who dares ask them to shut down the phone" it still does not warrant us getting giddy about "young buck" dying.

I never said you defended the shooter. I said you're a troll here and not worth my time. Hence my time on you is over.

Places that mandate training to those who may need to touch someone else as part of their job isn't the same thing as an armed security guard license. Nice try though. Almost no different than a place having to offer PPE training because of job requirements.

It's amazing watching him work himself up. I imagine he will have convinced himself that it was a 'good shoot' within the next page or two.
